I can no longer recommend Mckenzie Crossing Campsite While it is a nice campsite that's pet friendly with river access, my experience this weekend was horrendous. I arrive with a friend, we see it's packed! I'm use to the campsite being a quiet get away, but y'know it'll be fine. Busy is fine We should have waited for the friend and found a different campsite. We're told there's two campsites left, so we register and pay. Well, the only two campsites left are 1/3rd of the others with NO PICNIC TABLE when every other sight has one Honestly I should have asked for our money back, waited for the friend and chosen a different campsite. We were tired, had had a late start and just wanted to get settled though. Friday is plagued with drunk parties and loud music until after midnight. Saturday brings so many people Because it turns out the person running the campsite is having an event there. A wedding for her family! She made no mention of a private event happening when we registered Her guests were rowdy, off-leash dogs getting into fights or freaking out constantly, her guests making a gross mess of the washrooms And then, the cherry on top, at a PET-FRIENDLY, LOTS OF DOGS CAMPSITE Fireworks at 10 p.m. No warning. Needless to say I will never be back and do not recommend.

Stopped here one glorious afternoon to use the washroom and take a break while on a road trip. The campground was full, every stall was being used except one. Found outhouses facing the river at the north end close to the bridge. It was a busy active place with lots of people & lots of kids around. The river is fairly shallow so it’s a great place for everyone to enjoy the water. What was really cool is that someone has mounted a rope under the bridge so everyone can enjoy some good old-fashioned fun swinging on it! No cell service here, we encountered some peeps who wanted to get off the river after spending two days floating in a canoe but couldn’t contact their ride. This is a really nice spot to spend the day or a great camping spot (no services) for a few days. This highway is a lot busier than a person realizes until you spend some time there. It’s unfortunate the noise of traffic coming off the bridge is so loud down below though.

Absolutely beautiful location, great river access, fun for kids yet the noise was way too much. Loudest generators I have ever heard and then huge party come sundown that must have gone on until 3am. There is no on-site host so I guess that's what you get. I'd still go back and hope for better luck.

Nice beach area. Campsite is very nice. No cell service. Excellent dry camping sites.
