Abilene KOA Journey

Established in 1965 as one of the first KOAs in TExas, Abilene KOA Journey has provided travelers and visitors hospitality and rest for over 50 years.

Located on the western border of historic Abilene, Abilene KOA Journey is a convenient drive to all the attractions and amenities the city of Abilene has to offer. Rodeos, concerts and festivals, great local restaurants, and a variety of museums and historical attractions provide ample entertainment and educational opportunities all year long. Alternatively, escape from the hustle and bustle of life and slow down to enjoy some quality family time at the campground. There is nothing like free time to encourage play, to genuinely relax, and make indelible memories together - especially when you can end the day gathered around a campfire. We would love to be a part of your story!

Great, easy stop as we travel through. Called for last minute booking and they were able to take us. Has some nice trees that appear all trimmed so no scratches to your RV. Friendly staff.

Neat, clean, great little place to stop overnight or if you are spending a few days in Abilene. Owner and staff friendly and accommodating. Easy on and off Interstate 20 and quiet at night. Dog friendly!

This place is also called Phil's Hideaway RV park. I found it to be well-maintained. I love the pull through sites, the facilities were clean and the hookups were easy. The pool was clean and looked very inviting. I was sorry I didn't have time to use it. They have several small log cabins that you can also rent.

We have stayed here two or three times. Its a nice stop between travels, so we typically arrive late. The room already had its AC on already which is refreshing in July. The room was clean. No bugs. Clean bathrooms.

Extremely disappointed with our stay at KOA Abilene. It’s already July, and the pool has supposedly been closed since April with no clear updates or timeline for reopening. That’s one of the main reasons people book in the summer — totally misleading. On top of that, the bathrooms don’t even have AC. It’s Texas. In July. How hard is it to install a basic window unit or grab something from Home Depot or Lowe’s? It’s miserable trying to shower or get ready in that heat. Not the KOA experience we expected. Definitely won’t be returning
