Nice place but voltage gets low sometimes. Got down to 99V one time. Twice we had to run generator. Otherwise it's very nice. Shady. Friendly helpful staff. Great location for Adirondack park and lake George. We'll go again but in cooler months like April or October.

I am a member. I love the quiet. I love the river. The staff do their best and are always friendly and helpful. It's been renamed to Schroon River Escape and the new owner is doing her best to make improvements as she can. It has a pool, a river and the beautiful Adirondack woods. Kayaks, canoes and river tubes are available. If you want more, go somewhere else! This campground is everything it should be.

The cabin was nice, campground didn't have much going on. Old playground with lots of flies, didn't go to the pool but didn't look great from afar. Stayed there with the free voucher we got from listening to the membership sales pitch. Probably won't go back.

First off, we got to stay here 10 days for free after a drawing from an RV show. All we had to do was listen to a 45 minute talk about the campgrounds and what they had to offer, they also gave us a $50 gift certificate for a dinner out. Very nice staff, they got involved to make sure everyone was having a good time, helped out when needed, and checked in. Kim was very nice and my daughter enjoyed doing book time and a craft with her. The campground could use some updating though. There was a clean pool and playground that were older. There was no cable or wifi because of an issue with the provider but wasn't necessary for a good time. We really liked the beach along the river. We bought a tube and paddle and were able to tube along the river, we swam, and my daughter played in the sand. They had activities on the weekend but not during the week. I would visit again.

We went there to take a 90 minute tour, oh yea, if you just showed up you would get a "free" tablet. So we listened to them try to sell us their "timeshare" camping for $6000 dollars and $349 per year maintenance fees. After about 3 hours they lowered their price to $2500 and told us all the "free" camping we would get. Well unfortunately I fell for it. There is no such thing as free camping because you can never get in to those places. We made so many attempts in 2013 with only one campground accepting our reservation. There are certain yearly fees that we were never told about and you really don't get anything for it. Do yourself a favor , Do not fall for their scam, they have quite a racket going. Save your money and spend it at other campgrounds. I learned the hard way.
