Adirondack/Caroga Lake

Overview

The Adirondack / Caroga Lake KOA Holiday serves as a serene gateway to the southern reaches of the Adirondack Park. Nestled among mature trees and rolling hills, this destination offers a classic camping experience with modern conveniences. Whether you are arriving in a large motorhome or a compact travel trailer, the park provides a welcoming atmosphere that balances outdoor adventure with the comfort of a well-maintained facility. It is a place where the scent of pine and evening campfires defines the stay.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just outside of Gloversville, NY, the park occupies a prime location in Fulton County. The surrounding landscape is characterized by its proximity to both Caroga Lake and Canada Lake, offering visitors easy access to the region's vast water resources. Unlike the more crowded northern corridors of the mountains, this area offers a quiet, wooded retreat that feels remote while remaining easily accessible from major highways. The terrain features dense forests and gentle elevation changes typical of the southern Adirondack foothills.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate a variety of camping styles, offering full-hookup RV sites that can handle rigs up to 80 feet in length. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the heated salt-water pool or participate in organized activities like mini-golf and the jumping pad. For those traveling with pets, the dedicated KampK9 dog park provides a safe space for exercise. Practical amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, a well-stocked general store, and laundry facilities ensure a comfortable long-term stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities within a short drive of the park. A favorite local challenge is the hike up Kane Mountain, which rewards climbers with expansive views from its historic fire tower. Water lovers can head to the Caroga Lake State Campground for public beach access and boat launches. For a change of pace, the city of Gloversville offers unique local history, while nearby Peck Hill State Forest provides miles of scenic trails for hiking and mountain biking throughout the season.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore the Adirondacks without the heavy crowds of busier tourist hubs. It is particularly well-suited for RVers seeking a social yet peaceful environment with plenty of on-site activities for children. Definitely check out potential sites after a rain so you arent in waterlogged sites...there are quite a few. Aside for that issue can get rather crowded but bathrooms are clean and it's very pretty.
