It's my favorite campground. But sadly it's not taken care of. Like many others have stated, bathrooms are FILTHY! I feel like I'm going to get an STD just showering. I have tried using the facilities at different times of the day to see if maybe they are cleaner at certain times, but they are always filthy. NYS Health Department should seriously do an inspection. As far as the sites. Be sure to drive the whole campground if possible to make notes. Some sites are small and not level at all. Some are great. The fireplaces need serious attention. Most were broken apart. Last season our picnic table was in rough shape too. We have had seasons where we had quiet neighbors and other seasons where we have had the worst camping neighbors ever. If you have loud campers next to you, don't expect anything to be done. One year we had people clearly doing illegal drugs openly during the day and partying ALL night long. Multiple campers complained to staff and nothing was ever done. Instead, they told us we could move if we were bothered by the noise. The campground is beautiful. And it's sad it's not better cared for. Bring a rake! Because you will want to clean it upon arrival. Staff basically shovels out the fireplace and that's all. Prior to covid the beaches had life guards on duty. But that seems to have not returned. They also used to have canoe rentals too which was nice. But that also went away. The lake is clean and the beach is great. I hope to see them make some changes to honor the beauty of the Adirondacks.

Great spacious sites. Hiking trails. Access to beach area. Boating/kayaking/paddleboarding. Boat station. Wonderful views of northern lake George.

Nice campground close to Clifton Park area (just over an hour drive). The beach was clean and good for swimming, docks that you can sit on and watch the sunset, nice wooded areas and a lot of wildlife around - there was a Porcupine right by our fire pit at night!

We went up to see my college buddies who camp there every year and spent about 4 hours visiting their adjoining campsites. Each has space for two vehicles to park with room for a large tent, a concrete-backed fire pit which we cooked on, and a wooden picnic table. Recommendations include a mesh enclosure for the table and a hammock or two for the teenagers. Plenty of shade on their loop with the washrooms conveniently located nearby. Hague is a beautiful small town near the site for essentials and a Jeep drives around selling firewood for $15 per plastic bin (30 or 40 quart size) with local options also available. If you have a dog, BRING A RABIES VACCINATION CERT! Even visitors need to show proof of vaccination. It will speed up the process of entry and some cell carriers lack service in that area. Have a great time!

Rented a campsite for 2 tents, 4 people and 2 cars. Campsite was 12 x 18 - 20ft with a fireplace on one side and a picnic table in the middle. We had to park our cars on the side of the "road" which was only 1 car wide to begin with. We had all of 4ft between the fronts of our tents. Restroom placement on the map should have been right behind us. Nope. 200 feet, then turn and walk up hill another couple hundred feet. And the bathrooms are 4 stalls and absolutely disgusting. We used the woods and garbage bags. It was that bad. Let's move on to the showers. There are none anywhere near where our site was. You have to go out to the main road, cross over into the main park, past the registration booth and then try to find the right path/ road to get to one. It's about 3/4 of a mile or so. And there are only 3 showers for the entire campground of 300 +/- individual sites plus the group sites. There was no one to check us in. No one to help us locate our site. No one to tell us where to buy firewood. We made the reservation based off Google reviews and to be honest, it's like we stayed at a different campground than everyone . Trip Advisor only gives it 3. We should have done more research.

We had a decent time at Rogera Rock Campground — the area itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the nature around is great for hiking and relaxing. However, a few things really took away from the experience. The bathrooms were pretty dirty the entire time we were there — they weren’t cleaned regularly, and there was no soap available, which felt really unsanitary, especially at a campground where hygiene is already a challenge. Also, there were tons of ticks. We expected some bugs, of course, but this was excessive. We had to constantly check ourselves and the kids, which became stressful instead of relaxing. With better upkeep of the facilities and some tick control, this place could be a much better camping spot.

I was coming to spend the night by myself, from a previous two-night group camping. My campsite needed to have decent access for a touring motorcycle. I selected Site #31, which was pretty “rocky”, and had a small flat area where some had been doing “donuts in the mud” (more rocks). I walked back to the entrance booth and the girl gave another one that I selected, two over from 31. #27 was excellent. I was able to access the lake directly down from Site 27, without any formal “trail”, so under my own risk. I swam a bit the evening of my arrival, and this morning during sunrise, “nature against nature in full disclosure”. The site had a brick pit and plenty of firewood. The bathroom that I used was spotless.

We stayed at the Ballfield Group Site with a group of high school students and adult chaperones. Some made a short hike to a rocky outcropping for some swimming. Beautiful location! Bathrooms were a bit dirty and the buildings need a little TLC. It would also be nice to have a dumpster closer to the campsites rather than just out by the main entrance. Overall we had a positive experience though.

So I would love to leave a higher review on this because I love this campground, I really do. It has some really beautiful sites. You can go to the beach, hike, camp and rock-climb all from the park pretty sweet. However, it has dirty bathrooms, some without soap?! It's as if they've just unlocked doors and called it a day. The sites are decently cared for but I usually do a walk around to pick up microtrash. The buildings themselves could also use some cleaning repair and paint. Because I run a park and have run a campground I took the time to talk to the staff and get a better picture of what was going on. They are all nice people but you can tell they are over worked and short staffed. This is a HUGE park. I think the staff there are doing the best they can with what they are given. I wish the DEC and state would give it a little more love and attention. Especially since it's such a busy park.

Have been going for years. Fantastic park. Sick and tired of late night noise. Last year I left the park one night to get a night's sleep. There has not been any enforcement of " quiet hours" the last 4 years. Two years I had the same group of drunks at a nearby handicap site partying and lighting fireworks until 3:30 am. One yoyo got up at 5:30am and blasted his car radio. Had to clean my campsites the last two years. DEC needs to rein it in and make it nice for families again. I have never had a bad experience at Puts Pond or Crown Point.

Family has been coming here over 50 years. Not one time in 4 days did they clean the bathrooms/showers, had to request toilet paper which was never put in, sensor light in restroom did not turn on at night and the ADA compliance restroom was suddenly locked from the outside. After requesting it be opened again due to a camper needing the handrails, it was unlocked but they did not put any toilet paper in there. This used to be a beautiful friendly place to come but not anymore, very sad.

This is a great camping experience. The restrooms are clean the campsites are nice the fireplace is big and we felt very safe and comfortable camping here. We will all definitely be back and feel comfortable enough to come back with our family and children. There’s beautiful scenery around especially with Lake George nearby. The beach area is a very nice area as well and it is on the campsite
