This is a really nice campground very close to the park with an easy walk across bridge. Quiet and lots of room. No fires on the ground are allowed. Would be perfect for a nite stay while attending adventureland park!

Nice campground with plenty of campsites. Bath houses/laundry facilities spaced out throughout campground. Full hookups available. Location is convenient to Des Moines and Adventureland. Only negatives nearby railroad and no wifi.

While it is somewhat hard to find the entrance if you don't know what to look for, it's in a great location! We've had pull through sites and have enjoyed the ease and size of our sites. Water, power and sewer all worked great. T-Mobile internet is stellar. If you are able to stay a week or month the prices are much more affordable than the nightly rates.

I don't usually leave reviews but I feel I need to. This campground was so unusual. First and foremost, the pool never opened. When I asked about it, its because they had no lifeguards. Ok, fine. Asked to rent a fire pit. They sold out. Ok, fine. Go to our site and its obvious that a LOT of individuals live here. Again fine, but a very different crowd. I did not feel safe walking to the restroom alone at night. I felt uneasy with the people who were obviously living next to us. The obvious convenience of being able to walk to Adventureland is nice but I would never return unless I was 50+ homeless and had a gambling addiction.

I would say location is nice, because it puts you in proximity to a lot of things. Campground amenities for the price, is not reasonable at least when I came a few weeks ago. I understand that the pool would not been filled yet, however, still for the price I was a little letdown. The person in the check-in office was nice, respectful, courteous, and prompt. I also did not like that. They charged five dollars a day for a firing that you have to take to your campsite yourself. Being in the middle of a city, it was still pretty quiet for the most part. However, some other long-term campers put large items near the trash cans, which made it look a little gross. The shower house and restrooms were not clean, barely operational. However, they did have constant hot water, which was nice. I gave it a three stars simply because of the location and the person working at the check-in office. The signage could be better and the upkeep and maintenance definitely needs to be improved.
