Such a cool place! We really enjoyed our visit. Getting to see all the birds, reading about the big birds, and the scout plaques. How cool! Loved all the works done by Eagle Scouts.

We love this place! Very educational and very helpful staff. We brought some baby birds that we found abandoned and they took them in swiftly and professionally. They take great care in rescuing and returning wildlife to its natural habitat. The staff is well-informed and ready to help. We found a reading area stocked with wonderful books abiut birds. There's many different animals here to learn about. Mostly bird related information and displays but there are snakes, frogs, and turtles too. There are owls, hawks, and a bald eagle!

Some day camp campers found an injured bird and we were able to transport it to the center. They immediately took the baby bird to the nursery for antibiotics and care. We provided an addressed postcard and they will let us know the outcome of care.

Neat little place to see some animals as they rehab or become residents. Nobody was at the front desk so we just wondered around inside, but they have a viewing area of where they intake the animals and one of the staff members saw my family watching and was nice enough to bring a couple of birds to the window to say hi! And they have a bald eagle! Something I didn't know was that this is inside of a state park that you pay a small amount to get in. $5/adult and $2 for each kid. Worth it, but just be advised that if you are planning a day of not spending money, this isn't completely free. Again, well worth the money and the park does a great job. Make sure to check out the treetop trail just past it.

Me and my family have been visiting here ever since I was a little kid. I always enjoyed going to place like this so much. They really do have great staff and volunteers that put in a ton of time and work, especially during baby season. They have a nice viewing area to hopefully get to see some babies being fed and a fledgling and older recovering birds in the outdoor enclosed aviary. They had a cool little bug I think a praying mantis, snakes, tortoise and some neat fish and very blue crayfish. Then we went outside to look at the raptors and to see the eagle.

Wonderful place. You can walk around and visit the birds. The staff is also very friendly and also informative. You can bring injured birds to this place as well and they will take it in.

Low key place. Spent 20 minutes there. Most everything good is outside. Nothing fancy just a cool place to see a handful of unique birds/owls.

You can't talk to a live person they are rude and just demand you listen to a really fast recording that basically says if you can't bring the poor owl to them to just let it die

May 29, 2021 - June 7, 2021 An American Robin was born, left for dead by terrible cold thunderstorms, attacked by biting black ants, Rescued by me with Round the clock Care until safely in the hands of the Alabama Wildlife Center. I receive updates about my baby Robin's progress! How very nice! Thanks so very much AWRC!

We brought an injured pine siskin to this center. We were so impressed by these young people and their enthusiasm. I highly recommend this place. It was also enjoyable seeing all the things they do for birds and habitats. Great learning experience!
