I’ve fished and rented watercraft from many places around the US. This is by far the worst place I’ve come across. The lady who answers the phone and handles front desk business is terrible to do business with. One word answers and it seems to be an inconvenience to be helping you out. Very unorganized. It was painstaking renting a raft from this company. Get your boat elsewhere.

Thank you so much for making our Alaskan vacation vacation amazing! We rented both a boat and kayaks, and were met with patience and advice as we learned to use and load the equipment! The family was so kind and gave amazing advice for fishing in the area! Their prices are very reasonable, equipment in great shape, and close to so many areas of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge!!!!

Great campground. Cozy and welcoming. You can rent boats or even charter a fishing trip. Max is hilarious and informative about everything in Alaska.

Extremely friendly owners and staff. Willing to go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. Very family oriented. Bathrooms , showers & laundry are always clean and well stocked . $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry. Very resonable monthly RV site rates as well. Glad we found this campground! Bill & Brittany

Even though it’s been a while since we rented our canoes here to do a three days trip we still want to share our wonderful experience we had! We took their shuttle service to the starting point of our route 50 mi north of Sterling. The lakes are beautifully and the water is clear. Perfect for taking a swim. There are signs that mark the entrance to each portage, binoculars were helpful to spot them from the boat. There are several portages where you have to carry the canoe and your luggage. Most of the time we had to walk the distances (longest distance 1 mile!!!) twice to transfer everything to the next lake. There are a few campspots on the route mostly recognizable by fireplace and space for a tent. The last part back to Sterling is on the moose river which is sometimes very tide und meandering. Good canoeing skills are helpful. In general it’s an outdoor experience in the wilderness - no phone service, no civilization, most likely no other people. Just something to keep in mind! Pick up at our finish point was also no problem and is close to the rental shop. A big shout out to Shirley who explained everything to us and greeted us with great hospitality. A warm shower and fresh salmon from the grill was the highlight at the end of our tour! Thank you for the incredible experience! We will be back some day :)

What a wonderful experience! Excellent facilities! Kind and generous hosts. We rented a raft for fishing. Quality equipment. All the hosts were helpful, generous with their time —-All made us feel welcomed and part of the gang. Laundry, fish cleaning, bathrooms, full hook ups. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We absolutely loved Max and Shirley as well as all their staff. Friendly and eager to make your experience memorable. They work real hard to keep place in order and clean. Kid and dog friendly. Lots of toys to rent and very helpful to make your experience amazing.

I love these people!! So fun. We had intended to rent canoes but when they drove us out to the lake the wind was to much to cross in canoes. They drove us back and put us in a giant raft and sent us down the river towards Soldotna. It was a great time and they really were fun to work with.

My Brother and I had planned this trip to Alaska for 2 years. Alaska Canoe Campground provided more than adequate stay for our 30’ RV with hook ups that were accessible . Max and Shirley were very accommodating for our 4 week stay. I highly recommend this campground to all. I’ll be planning my stay in the future to include Max and Shirley’s place!!
