Alaskan Angler RV Resort & Cabins

Overview

Alaskan Angler RV Resort & Cabins offers a quintessential Kenai Peninsula experience in the historic village of Ninilchik. This park serves as a premier home base for those seeking world-class fishing and rugged coastal scenery. The resort balances the wild Alaskan spirit with modern conveniences, providing a welcoming community atmosphere for travelers navigating the Sterling Highway. It is highly regarded for its clean facilities and dedicated service to the fishing community, making it a staple for seasonal visitors.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Ninilchik, the park is perfectly positioned halfway between Soldotna and Homer. Guests enjoy stunning views of the Cook Inlet volcanoes, including Mount Redoubt and Mount Iliamna, which dominate the western horizon. The surrounding landscape features a mix of coastal bluffs, lush forests, and the nearby Ninilchik River. This location offers a quieter, more authentic Alaskan atmosphere compared to the busier tourist hubs further south on the peninsula, while remaining close to the scenic beachfront.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with long-haul RVers and serious fishermen in mind. Essential features include full hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp service, along with spacious pull-through options that accommodate big rigs with ease. To support the local lifestyle, the resort provides extensive fish processing facilities, including professional-grade vacuum sealers and walk-in freezers to preserve your catch. Other essentials like reliable Wi-Fi, clean private showers, and laundry facilities ensure a comfortable stay after a long day of adventure.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw, with easy access to halibut and salmon charters departing regularly from the nearby Deep Creek beach. Visitors can explore the historic Ninilchik Village and its iconic Russian Orthodox Church, which sits perched on a hill overlooking the water. Beachcombing and eagle watching at the Deep Creek State Recreation Area are popular low-key activities, while the surrounding wilderness offers endless opportunities for wildlife photography and coastal hiking.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is the ideal choice for dedicated anglers who need the specific infrastructure to process and store their daily catch. It also appeals to adventurous families and retirees looking for a well-maintained, social base camp while touring Alaska's scenic coast. If you value a fishing-centric community with reliable amenities and a front-row seat to some of the state's best volcanic vistas, this park will fit your travel style perfectly.

We had a great time with James and Eli (Sergio). Wish the weather had cooperated more, but we caught a lot of fish and had so much fun. Can't wait to come back next year!

My wife Brenda and I stayed here with our RV. It was a great experience. We are from oklahoma. Drove over 15000 miles. Seen all kinds of places. This place was one of our best fun spots to visit. Thank you for the hospitality

Not only was this campground welcoming and set up to be easy to navigate and cater to RVs, cabin rentals, and tent camping but the staff is so kind! We haven’t been back to AK since we moved and they were the best part of our visit home. My husband went with the Halibut charter and really enjoyed his experience. The staff was super accommodating on short notice on the 4th to provide us with a huge 1 bedroom cabin at a really great rate. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend staying here you will be happy you did.
