You can use this place as a base to do a number of activities from....kayaking, whale watching, bear watching or access to a wilderness lodge at Farewell Harbour...Berry Island. Amazing view. Spots are reasonably level but close together. Easy access to the launch and Beach area. Nice little restaurant with good options. The wind can be a little intense coming off the water so bring the right clothing options. Will definitely come back again.

Very relaxing stay and beautiful view of the ocean. Other RVers were super friendly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice shop and restaurant on premise. I'm not a fisherman, but this place made me want to be. Not 5/5 due to some of the unevenness and narrowness of the pull through sites, but overall it was a positive experience. 👌

Fern Way of Life “or” Vancouver Island

This is our second year going back to Alder Bay and plan to make this a yearly tradition. We camp in many campgrounds from one end of Vancouver Island to the other and Alder Bay is our favorite. They have many different sites to chose from. Lots of sites with ocean views, sunset views, some rustic, group sites and some forested and shady with lots of privacy. You can pick which type of site suits you best! The owners and staff are super helpful, friendly and make you feel welcome. I appreciate the upgrades they are making and how well maintained the place is. The food truck and patio is a definite bonus!
