Very friend and helpful park staff. Smooth check-in. The campsites here are big with nice fire pit. People at the campgrounds were nice and friendly. On the first day, it was a bit cold at night. Our electric outlet kept tripping as we had 2 heaters in the tent. The opposite campsite had access to the same outlet, as two campsite share the outlet. This gentleman was so kind that he said you can use my outlet as well and disconnected his extension. The beach is just a few minutes walk. Beautiful calm water, the beach was always full of people, either they came to canoe or to swim. The sunrise and sunset were amazing from the beach. Would definitely return.

Canisbay Lake Campground – A Fall Paradise Canisbay Lake Campground is an absolute gem, especially in the fall. The entire area is incredibly clean and well maintained, which makes the camping experience feel comfortable and refreshing. The campsites themselves are large and spacious, offering plenty of room and privacy without feeling crowded. One of the best things about this campground is how peaceful and quiet it is—you can truly relax and connect with nature. In autumn, the scenery is breathtaking. The fall colours around Canisbay Lake are incredibly vibrant, with rich reds, oranges, and golds creating a spectacular backdrop. It feels like stepping into a painting. During this season, the campground truly becomes a paradise. If you’re looking for tranquility, natural beauty, and a clean, well-kept camping spot, Canisbay Lake is a perfect choice—especially in the fall.

It was a wonderful camp site. The rangers came by to check permits. It was a little cold. We saw a beaver. Best way to send off the Summer. If you go please follow all the rules, take your garbage, get your permits. Be safe and be respectful.

Well-kept facilities and easy access. Camp grounds are calm, with a laid-back vibe and are a good value $. Highlight: shade-covered campsites and clean restrooms & showers. Quick note: ideal in spring or fall temperatures.

Located close to the beginning of Algonquin park, this is a beautiful campground with limited but clean facilities. The shower stations are located quite far from the campsites. The beach is small but beautiful. You can rent kayak, canoe and SUP boards from Algonquin Outfitters and other providers who will drop the rentals at the beach along with the needed supplies. Rentals available for single or multi day use. We camped in the quiet zone area and enjoyed even though we had young kids with us.
