Versatile state park that allows to combine historical Allaire village visit with nature trails hiking and train rides maintained by volunteers. Basically, you get a very balanced day that few other parks can compete with. Ample parking lot and multiple trails starting from it.

Allaire did a good job with their Halloween event. It is definitely worth checking out. Extra bonus Chick fila was out there selling hot sandwiches.

One of my favorite places to wander. It's always quiet. Neat old buildings to look at and in. Been coming 35 years. My dogs love it as there are very clean streams and lots of paths. A truly scenic and historic park I'm proud to live by. Look out for events the host online.

Many building left. Nice bakery And general store. Excellent walking area with trees and benches. Worth visiting for history and for learning. Had people in period dressing at the visitors center, the carpenters house and the blacksmith was on site making items. There is a train which looks like a fun ride.

Nice train ride ($6 per person, babies under 3 years old are $2). Important note: train ride only runs Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am-4:30pm. Train leaves every half hour. Also you can get close up museum and you get to see how "back in the day" was like. Nice scenery and walking.

The village is nice, but if you're charging to get it and you see a person on crutches and painfully getting around, maybe mention that the actual event is on the other side of the park. Or, perhaps one or the ten golf carts sipping around could have offered some help. Also, you're really charging $5 for basic candies like dots at the general store? Overall, nice to look at but not a fan of "management".

Allaire village is a lovely historic site with a good museum to introduce you to the village and very friendly people in the village. When we were there, there were 2 people working in the blacksmith shop and 2 people in the woodshop who were happy to answer questions and explain what they were doing. The admission fee is small and it's a great place to spend a few hours. There's a bakery to buy snacks as well.

I've been visiting this park since 80's. This is my favorite park. It's always a pleasure to walk the trails, visit the historic village and attend the events. Also the occasional ride on the Pine Creek Railroad. Absolutely love this place. Best park ever!

This is a beautiful park, with plenty of places to walk and get fresh air. The kids absolutely loved the play area! Swings, slides, climbing walls, drums, and musical poles. The historic village is great for educational purposes, and a very nice train display. The trains weren't running, I'm guessing because of the time of the year. Very nice park!

I'm back in NJ since the 90s. I remember coming here when I was a child. I came today and was so very pleased to see that nothing changed. Granted, some of the historic buildings, like the mill , are gone. But the park lacks state funding enough to keep up with repairs. They rely on gate fees and donations. It is lovely to see how many people volunteer to run the museums, demonstrations, and the train. My folks didn't let us ride the train as a child, but I rode today. I was expecting to be charged at least $20. It is only six bucks per person. What a deal. There was a flea market today, unexpected! There are trails, bike lanes, and horse paths. There is a lovely chapel, and there was a wedding happening today. Also, fortunately, there are clean working rest rooms. I would recommend this park for a day out. Picnic tables are all around and have grills near them. There are a bunch of covered picnic areas, gazebos, I guess they're called. There is plenty for all ages.
