Came back after 14 years. Like the privacy between sites. Campground speed limit is 10mph and no one drive s 10 most are 35-40 mph!! If you have kids or walking your pets be careful of the cars !! Some areas are very noisy due to roads outside of campground be very busy. Maybe the Governor should spend the $600 million on sound barriers and park systems instead of the Cleveland Browns !! Also one dump station for such a large campground leads to long lines, and get back up with people just filling fresh water tanks.

Camp sites were beautifully wooded lots with lots of privacy. Flat paved sites with a picnic table and fire ring. We had electric but no water or sewer. Would have been nice to have all three but for 2 nights it was fine. They did have several localized water fill stations and even gray water dumps but only one black dump station near the entrance. It is the woods jn the city! Would definitely come back.

Had a great time in a tent. Large group, we booked 2 sites. Bathrooms were nearby and blessedly clean and stocked. We went to the main beach area as well as camping area, went fishing, did the putt putt, and drive to the other side for disc golf! We packed in a lot over 2 nights, including cards, games, campfires and even geo caching.

Alum Creek State Park is a very nice park! There is plenty of shaded sites, full service, electric, primitive, and premiere sites. It has a small campers beach for swimming, a nice Lake for boating, tubing, water skiing, or fishing. They have activities such as music, movies, and breakfast on Saturdays

I really enjoyed my stay at Alum Creek State Park Campground! The folks at the check in were very friendly and helpful. Overall the campground was very well maintained. Restrooms and shower houses were cleaner than most! Inside the campground is a private camper beach as well as a camper boat dock. Most of the sites were spacious and shaded. The nature center has several planned activities and around the nature center are basketball and volleyball courts and other outdoor games. This is a large park, so it was useful to bring a bike to get around! I always enjoy my stays at the state parks and this one did not disappoint!

The staff were very friendly and the sites were pretty private even though they were really close together. They have enough amenities that it’s easy to get to a bathroom. The bathrooms are old but decently maintained.

I like to go hammock camping so I was a little disappointed that sites did not have the right type of tree spacing or trees at all a lot of rush at least where I was in site K17 and that area. There was a convenient little walk from the site and view of the creek. I was close to a path that people were walking through, which I guess was convenient to get to activities. Lots of poison ivy. The staff at the welcome center was very nice and informative. ODNR really needs to step up their game as far as maps for the sites and the parks in general. So much amazing technology out there and they are taking use of none of it when it comes to providing information for the parks and the campgrounds specifically.

The sites are spacious and well kept. There is a private beach area just for the campers. The naturalists and camper hosts provide activities throughout the summer months, including hikes, weekend breakfasts, crafts, music, and more. The campground trails are very nice, giving you views of the forest and the lake. All around nice place to camp.

The campsites are nice. While somewhat close together, they each have their own alcove, paved drive, and a sense of privacy. There are a lot of nice things to do around the area: a playground, a nature center, a small beach that you can walk to from the campsites. They offer breakfast on Saturday and donuts on Sunday. And there were signs up for live music tonight. The park office and welcome center sells lots of things helpful when camping, like pie irons, food like marshmallows and honey and other types of condiments, accessories for camping, bags and even toys for kids. I think this is a good campsite to go if you want to get away from the city but still be fairly close by. The only thing I really didn't like was that they don't have any sidewalks, trails or walkways by the road for pedestrians. This means that campers have to walk on the road where cars drive through the campsites to get anywhere. Also to get to any of the hiking trails and Alum State Creek Park, you have to drive.
