American Campground

Basic but very accessible and loved how quiet it was at night. Also they allow pre-booking paid via credit card which is preferable to carrying a big wad of cash that most of the other rv sites require.

This rv park is ok for a place to stay traveling through or need to stay for extended amount of time, this works. There's no dog park, entertainment or manned office on the weekends.

A Home Away from Home As someone working in the oil field, finding a good place to stay is tough. I was so glad to find American Campground in Del Rio, TX. I stayed in one of their fully furnished cabins, which felt like a true home away from home. The cabin was perfect, with a full kitchen, comfortable bed, and fast Wi-Fi. Beyond the great cabins, the amenities are a huge plus. The pool with a cabana, swings, and pool bar was a fantastic way to relax after a long day. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the rates are great. This is easily the best campground I've ever stayed at and a perfect place for anyone working or traveling in the area. Also pet friendly!

We enjoyed our stay at American RV and Mobile Home Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. The park is just outside of Del Rio and there is easy access to town amenities and in-town site seeing. The park is also close to several trail heads in the Amistad National Wilderness Area which made it very convenient for hiking. We were able to pick any available site upon arrival even though the booking software forces a choice at the time of reservation. The manager also set us leave an hour late so we could see the Whitehead Museum on our day of departure. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water. The site lengths might be too short for very long rigs. We pulled a 23.5ft trailer behind a crew cab f-150 and just fit. This is not a destination RV park, but it serves well as a convenient base from which to explore the area.

What a great find! Operated by a welcoming lady who was very helpful in every way. There’s no restrictions as I have an older camper. Very clean spots of all sizes and pull through. FHU, great pool, laundry facilities and other offerings. Short and long stays possible. Highly recommended.

Personally, I appreciated the possibility of booking online. Then once the reservation was made, I received all the details of my stay before arriving: Wi-Fi password, access codes... As a family, we were very satisfied with the campsite services offered by the smiling and active owners (swimming pool and grill provided). Seeing deer at the end of the day near the campsite was a plus.

Chaotic, no one is there to help, we went to our site and someone was already there, so we call the number on the email, no reply, they call back and say oh they’re broke down, just pick another site…. At this point you can’t find anything long enough, we did find one eventually and got settled. The laundry was great if you want to wash greasy overalls, and I did eventually find a shower that worked so that earned the second star. Honestly go down the road and find something else.

Poorly maintained. Unreadable signage at site rows. Stayed 1 night, all the way at back of park, horrible roads to get there. Full hookups were the best feature.

Very clean and maintained facility.

We stayed one night here only on our way from Houston to Big Bend. The campground was quiet and we felt very safe. Arrived after the office was closed but had no issues checking in using the forms provided at the office. Restrooms and showers were clean with good water pressure and hot water. The kitchen was also a very nice touch! We did dishes in the kitchen and re-froze our ice packs so they could go back in the cooler the next day. You do get some muffled noise from the road, but not enough to wake you in the night. Our only recommendation to management would be to add some additional lighting in the showers themselves. Somewhat dark when showering at night. We would stay here again!

Kelly is super friendly and helpful. The bath houses were very clean and nice to use. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and accommodating staff. Great amenities. Everything we wanted in a campground and then some! This is my second review here and we're leaving here today for another adventure. But we had a pleasant time here. The pool was great (and getting better), and the other campers and permanent residents were also very nice. Would gladly stay again, and I highly recommend this place if you're passing through, staying a few days, or want to live here!

We stayed here while visiting the Amistad National Recreation Area and dam. It was quiet and clean. Which is what we look for most. There was WiFi available, showers, and laundry. Lot was gravel and level. Very nice over the phone conversation because it is self check in so unless there’s a problem which we didn’t have there is no face to face. We enjoyed being there.

Nice place to stay. Hookups were good. We enjoyed seeing the deer in the mornings.
