We looked into this place when we were looking at options for our wedding and while we didn’t go with this location, the staff were very friendly and helpful at answering all of our questions. They let us have as much time as we needed to look around and didn’t push us. The interior is beautiful!! Love it! And the setup is perfect for a wide variety of events!!

Booked the event center for our wedding reception. The hall itself was a decent size for the amount of guests we had, about 75. They have lights strung across the ceiling and a white curtain backdrop with lights hanging down, which is attractive. They put up and take down the tables and chairs which is helpful. They HIGHLY recommend getting a caterer from their list, if you bring anyone in they will have to sign a liability waiver, including DJ, photographer etc. There is a separate bar area, which you basically have to hire and pay for as a separate charge from the rental for their staff (or pay for insurance, which you arrange if you want your own staff). The bar staff have a large tip jar (which is obviously acceptable l) but I was surprised and not necessarily in a good way, to see a sign stating they accept all types of payment including through Venmo… it seemed pushy. In the bar area there is no sink or running water, no refrigeration unit so you have to bring your own coolers to keep drinks cold. They do supply one smaller cooler for ice to go in drinks. We were told that we could buy ice from them for our coolers, suggesting it would be cheaper, at over $3 a bag for a small bag of ice we decided to buy off site. In the kitchen area there is very little prep area, a regular sized refrigerator (not catering size) and we were told we could only utilize the top 3 shelves, which was not nearly enough room to cater for 75 guests. Although there was an oven we were told we were not allowed to use it, unfortunately I forgot to relay this message to my friends who were helping me and I was informed in the middle of my reception that we would be charged for having it on at a temperature of 175 for liability reasons. There is nowhere else available to keep food warm, I was told the caterer usually organizes that, we had to rent a warming cabinet. They charge for a parking attendant (no choice in the matter) if serving alcohol you have to pay for a sheriff for the last 3 hours of the event… the officer that volunteered, actually came into the hall stood in the bar area, did not introduce himself, never cracked a smile and basically watched every drink poured. Bottom line is, I would not recommend this facility. It was not worth the money we paid. They nickeled and dimmed us for everything, I am confident that although the hall was left in the same state as when we arrived, there will be a reason that the deposit will not be returned. Edited: ALSO, if you do not pay by cash they will charge you a surcharge… even if you are using a debit card, which to my understanding is not allowed.

This place is absolutely amazing and beautiful! We camped for the first time ever and the wonderful staff there made our first campout the best. The staff also made sure we got the best site, filled us in on all of the fun things to do and was so welcoming the whole time. I got to play on the playground and I could not help but to feel like again hopping in on the fun with my loddos.

We had our wedding here and it was a great venue. We had a very sunny fall wedding with the rustic cabin and wooded background made for a perfect outdoor ceremony. Their venue was perfect for our reception and our ceremony. We even stayed in one of the cabins they have which was perfect for the day before and day of. They also recommend Sterks catering as they knew the venue and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Our guests were pleased we were pleased very much recommend a wedding or any other event to be held here. beautiful venue. The bartender they provided was very good as well very helpful not just for the bride and groom but the our guests as well 🩷 The ladies in the office very helpful, very kind and sweet 🩷 Thank you

Extremely displeased with this Campground!! We paid nearly $300 for 4 nights. Most sites do not have sewer hookups, $7 per day/per pet… campground offers NO dog park and NO dog poop bag stations. So what is the purpose for dog fee? Restrooms and laundry room were dirty and rundown. There are a lot of permanent trailers in sites that were not kept up and were very unsightly. Making them appear to be abandoned. Will NOT be returning.

Absolutely loved our stay at American Wilderness Campground! From the minute we pulled in, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The campsites were clean and spacious, and the whole place had such a peaceful, laid-back vibe. We had a blast fishing in the lake, and the kids couldn’t get enough of the playground and swimming area. Even the bathrooms were cleaner than most places we’ve been to! Nights by the campfire were perfect with the stars out and no city noise. Honestly, it’s just a great spot to relax, have fun, and make some awesome memories. Already planning our next trip back!

This campground was super well kept. Everything felt really clean and taken care of, and it was way more affordable than a lot of other places we looked at. There’s a nice lake for swimming which was fun. We had some car trouble while we were there and needed a jump, Derek was seriously amazing. He didn’t give up on it, even when it was being stubborn, and even went and grabbed his own tools to help us out. Super kind and helpful, and it honestly made a stressful situation way easier. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something low-key, affordable, and fun. Would definitely come back.

Went here with friends and their kids, rented a cabin. Definitely recommend bringing friends and family. We were greeted and treated kindly. The campground has a beautiful area to swim and fish. The store has lots of necessities. Allison the boss was super helpful with getting this all set up. Everything was well priced and the events are super fun.

Very affordable, kid friendly, and a beautiful get away. Perfect place to spend your summer and more. Events are planned and you're invited and made to feel like family. This is one of the best places to go. Very friendly community and staff. Bathrooms are clean. A cute lake to fish and swim in. And much more!

This is a cozy campground with a few cottages to rent. It seems really popular for RVs. They also have a nice space for weddings and special events.

My family and I did not enjoy our time at this campground. We had two sites for two nights. I did not like the following: - The campground is gated, so you have be let in every time. I found it annoying. It wasn't keeping any riff raff out. The sites are all in the back anyway. - There were multiple areas on my small site where there use to be a fire, so there were black charcoal piles. I had to be careful where my dog and I stepped so we wouldn't bring it in the camper. They should clean them up. - The bathrooms and showers are atrocious. I have camped at over 20 campgrounds this year, and these were by far the worst bathroom facilities. First, there is no bathroom by our campsites. The one "bathroom" by the pond is just a pit toilet, and I use toilet loosely. It was a concrete circle with a wooden seat! Not sanitary at all. I peaked my head into the showers and definitely was not willing to use them. - The pond was gross and the water level was quite low. - There were several people flying political flags around, and I don't want that where I stay. - It rained during our stay, and the sites were completely flooded.
