Ami's Acres Camping

All of the pros and cons on other reviews are accurate. I’m shocked that no one mentioned the water. We’ve been living in our travel trailer full-time for 6 months and this is only the 2nd spot we’ve hit where the water was undrinkable. We use two filters, one on the fresh water hose outside and a filtered pitcher inside the camper. The water was so foul tasting that we couldn’t even use it for tea or coffee (we tried!). It is not worth the hefty fee, for how basic the conditions at the campground are.

Great location and very clean amenities, but directly next to the freeway, making for a very loud experience.

Overall an amazing experience! Came from out of state and our first option of camping fell through the night of; called Ami’s Arces Campground and they fit us in and were super accommodating. The staff even stay a hour past there close time to make sure we had everything. The bathrooms were very nice & heated. Everyone was super friendly & incredible views from our site. It was a nice that they also provided firewood if needed. Very close to a cute downtown area- great ice cream & dinner options close as well. Overall highly recommend this campground if you’re staying in the area!

Pretty rustic place. Not for big rigs. Bumpy tight roads with tight turns and few tree issues. Super nice helpful hosts! Some sketchy sites occupied by run down dilapidated rigs built in 1980s. Bathrooms were ok nice. Fine place for an overnight stay.

I am on a cross country bicycle trip, Maine to California and decided to give this campground a try so I could rest for a couple days and charge up all my charging banks. Was an amazing place. My tent area was big and had amazing views. There are bathrooms and showers that are very nice and very clean. Everything is close by and the town itself is great. So much to do. Owner was very friendly and checked me in

Great campground. The owner was super cool and friendly and accommodating with my late check in. The camp sites were perfect size with a beautiful view. The sound of the highway could be an issue for some but I grew up next to one so it wasn't an issue. I'll definitely be visiting again.

We loved our stay at Ami’s Acres! The bathrooms were by far the nicest and cleanest of any campground we’ve stayed at—truly above and beyond. The location is beautiful and peaceful, nestled in the hills but still super convenient to access. Yes, you can hear highway traffic and a train occasionally (as other reviews mention), but honestly, that just makes it easy to find and drive to—a fair trade-off for such a great spot. We also enjoyed the nearby food options—there’s a delicious Salvadoran food truck close by, and a great Mexican restaurant too. The owner/operators were helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely stay again if we’re passing through. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view of the mountains!! Like you are sitting in their lap! And gorgeous stars and moon last night. Well maintained. Clean. Nice bathroom with soap and paper towels, toilets, showers and cold rain water showers! Friendly, helpful staff. This is right off the highway, which I wanted, so I did not take any stars away, but you can hear the cars passing on the road.

Great place with beautiful scenery! We stayed 3 nights with our dog and had a great experience. Craig and Tim were really nice and helpful and gave us great tips on places to visit and eat downtown. This campground is super pet friendly with very clean and well kept restrooms/bathhouses. The only thing we didn’t love was some of the long-term tenants junking up their lots and creating quite the eyesore for the campground. Other than that, it’s a great place for a great price! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Glenwood Springs.

Pros: friendly staff and nice views. Good value for the money. Close to the highway and close to shops in town. Cons: roads were full of potholes and the full-timers’ sites were junky. We didn’t use their restrooms or showers, so no comment.

The first site we were assigned had a problem with the 50-amp electric service. We were reassigned a different site where all the electric circuits worked perfectly. But this second site had a downhill slope, from curbside to street, and the water was still turned off for winter. So the water we had was pooling on the wrong side and we were only able to get a few gallons before the pump couldn't get anymore. Aside from those hiccups, the camp was charming and located nicely by the river, just off the highway. The showers and restrooms were perfectly maintained and toasty warm. ☺️ We were delighted to stay the night here, and we'd recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely loved this campground as it’s great for a quick overnight stay or a few days exploring Glenwood Springs. Super kind staff, clean facilities, and spectacular views of the mountains accented by the sun and moonlight. Very easy to get to local stores from the location as well. Definitely plan to stay again when back in CO!

Amazing view, awesome staff, quiet and space from other sites on property. We did a walk-in tent camp for 2 nights. The privacy was great with a nice mountain view. Near bathrooms and showers. The only complaint is that it is right off the highway, so it's a little noisy with traffic, but it's nice to be just about 5 miles from town. Would definitely recommend it and come back! Thank you for a great stay!
