Anahim Lake Resort & RV Park

Overview

Anahim Lake Resort & RV Park offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of the West Chilcotin. Situated directly on the shores of Anahim Lake, this destination is known for its quiet atmosphere and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It provides an authentic wilderness experience where travelers can disconnect from the hustle of city life and reconnect with nature while enjoying comfortable facilities and friendly, local service.

Location & Surroundings

The resort is located along Highway 20, approximately 350 kilometers west of Williams Lake. This remote stretch of road, often called the Freedom Highway, takes travelers through some of the most rugged and beautiful landscapes in British Columbia. The park sits at an elevation that provides crisp mountain air and a vantage point overlooking the coastal mountain range, making it a scenic stopover or a primary destination for those exploring the interior.

Amenities & Park Features

RV travelers will find well-maintained sites that include full hookups with power, water, and sewer connections. For those who prefer a more rustic experience, there are also unserviced spots and cozy lakeside cabins. On-site amenities include clean shower houses, laundry facilities, and a private boat launch for easy access to the water. The resort also offers a large dock and dedicated freezer space, which is essential for guests who spend their days catching fish.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts are perfectly positioned to explore Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, British Columbia's largest protected area. The lake itself is a premier spot for fly-fishing and bird watching, often frequented by American White Pelicans. Visitors can take a short drive to the Rainbow Mountains for hiking or book a local flightseeing tour to see the breathtaking Hunlen Falls. The surrounding wilderness is also home to diverse wildlife, including grizzly bears and moose.

This park is ideal for avid anglers and nature photographers looking for a quiet home base in the wilderness. It appeals to adventurous RVers who enjoy the rugged beauty of the Chilcotin and are looking for a community-oriented resort. This is a really great campground. The owners are very nice. The campground is right by the lake and very clean washrooms. A great place to stay if you don't want to go down "the hill" to Bella Coola with your camper.

Awesome stay at Anahim Lake Resort! Ralph, the owner, was super friendly and accommodating. The campground is beautiful—right on the lake with stunning sunsets and daily bald eagle and pelican sightings. Great for kids with swings, shade, and a covered spot perfect for hanging a hammock. They offer 30 amp and 15 amp sites, picnic tables, water hookups, clean washrooms, showers, plus a washer and dryer. We even rented a boat for an hour and caught some beautiful trout. We loved our three nights here and would definitely come back!
