Angel Lake RV Park
Overview
Angel Lake RV Park serves as a practical and scenic gateway for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of northeastern Nevada. Situated in the quiet town of Wells, this park offers a straightforward camping experience with a focus on convenience and accessibility. It provides a peaceful respite for those navigating the long stretches of Interstate 80 or Highway 93, blending small-town charm with mountain vistas and a welcoming atmosphere for all types of road trippers.
Location & Surroundings
Located at the foot of the East Humboldt Range, the park sits at an elevation that offers cooler summer evenings compared to the lower desert floors. The surrounding landscape transitions from high-desert sagebrush plains to dramatic alpine peaks. Being in Wells means guests are just a short drive from historic landmarks and essential services, while the looming backdrop of Hole-in-the-Mountain Peak provides a constant sense of wilderness and natural beauty just outside your door.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of rigs with spacious pull-through sites and full hookup options including 30 and 50-amp service. Travelers can expect essential comforts such as clean restrooms, private showers, and on-site laundry facilities to refresh during their journey. For those who need to stay connected while on the road, the park offers reliable wireless internet, and the pet-friendly policy ensures that four-legged companions are welcome to enjoy the stay as well.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw for visitors is the namesake Angel Lake, a stunning glacial tarn located about 12 miles away via a scenic mountain road. Visitors can enjoy high-altitude fishing, hiking, and picnicking in an alpine setting that feels worlds away from the desert. History buffs can explore the nearby ghost towns of Elko County, while outdoor enthusiasts can venture into the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest for birdwatching, photography, and exploring rugged canyon trails.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for long-haul travelers looking for a reliable and comfortable stopover during a cross-country trip. It also perfectly suits outdoor adventurers who want a functional basecamp for exploring the Ruby Mountains and East Humboldts without sacrificing modern utilities. Its quiet, relaxed atmosphere makes it a preferred choice for retired RVers and families who appreciate a low-key, friendly environment over a high-activity commercial resort.

One of the nicest, cleanest RV parks. The host was so friendly and accommodating. The facilities were very well maintained and welcoming. Nice hot shower in the morning.

I’m so glad that we stayed at this beautiful campground. It’s just off the freeway so it’s really convenient. One thing that I look for is a clean bathroom and this bathroom is Clean!!! And the hot water is Hot for as long as I took a shower. My husband liked the full hook up without paying extra for it. We will definitely be stopping by here again the next time we are driving through…

Good value 40 a night. Simple but clean park. Everything was easy. Most spots appeared as if they were pull though. We showed up late at night after 9 hours of driving. Was easy and checkout is at 11 but we have a baby and a dog so we needed a few extra and was not a problem. Laundry room available. It was clean. Bathrooms also clean. Bathrooms have additional showers.

Stopped for a night on our way to Jackson. It's conveniently located off highway 80 and also across from Maverick with inexpensive gas. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, and sites are spacious. A bit noisy next to the highway but it's a worthy trade-off. Great place!

We only stopped for one night while traveling. We used the laundry facility which was convinced close to our site and it is open 24 hrs no code needed. The office, laundry and bathroom/ shower area are very clean. The office lady was super nice and helpful. If you need change for the laundry they have it available. The price for full hookups is great $40 a night. Would definitely stay here again.
