Stayed here a few times. Star gazing is beautiful for the southern sky, minimal light saturation. Water level is low enough now you can walk and encompass the entire lake! Great affordable rental options at the main office for a kayak, canoe, paddle board, and Lilly pads. Definitely worth the stay if water sports are your game. Bring sunscreen!

Great views and plenty of space! Would love to come back again when weather is better.

Really enjoyed the park! Only suggestion is to make sure you know what is open and when. It gets pretty quiet Mondays and Tuesdays of a normal week.

This is a great place really has bathrooms. It has plenty of place to paddle. The scenery is awesome and I recommend it to anybody to spend the day out on it.a little crowded on the weekends lots of parking

Amazing campground. We stayed in the Cheyenne loop, which was small with a playground and shower house. It was perfect. Site 2 was very nice, site 17 is private with an epic view of the water. Pizza joint up on the weekends, marina with snacks, a very long paved biked trail which was awesome. Highly recommend. Hot springs is about 5 miles down the road which has laundry, restaurants, gas / diesel and alot to do.

If you are traveling to the area. This is a must visit! Nice sandy lounging areas, clean water. So much fun on the land or in the water.

Stopped by the lake for a quick cool down, the kids loved it. My Sister & I had some Mom time to catch up. That's always a treat. Water was just right.

Awesome state park. People friendly and place was clean and well maintained. A little bit out of the way but quite after a hard day of site seeing.

It's always nice to visit South Dakota's parks. We got a cabin and stayed 3 days with the kids. The cabin was very nice and had good working A/C. It was in the upper 90s so the A/C was nice. We let the kids have the cabin and we stayed in a tent. If you're going to tent camp here's a few pointers. 1- bring a good tent, it can be very windy. The wind really shows the difference be tween a good tent and a not so good tent. 2- there are ants, be prepared to do something about them. Lots of ants... 3- not all sites are the same and not all cabins are the same. Some cabins are bigger than others, some sites are not flat. Make sure of what you're getting. South Dakota parks never disappoint!!!
