Anvil Campground is a fun and well kept campground in historic Williamsburg. It is the best campground around and you will not be dissapointed by the friendly staff and amenities found. The bathrooms are also nicer than standard. Enjoy your stay,!

This campground has been the absolute best yet, my kids and I love the train it’s our favorite part, beyond clean and the staff and owners are so beyond friendly always greeting with smiles! The arcade I didn’t go into for awhile bcs most the times in campgrounds they aren’t as “fun” but I walked in and there is endless games and activities me my husband and kids loved it! Yes there is noise from the train but we love it and it’s actually very peaceful and quiet around here very safe feeling and at home like. I could go on and on but I’ll leave it with this it’s a very clean family friendly campsite and with its location is just the best! If your a family with children this is the campsite to be in it will not disappoint!❤️🚂

Amazing! Anvil campground is absolutely amazing. Its in the best place possible ( yes there is a fire station down the road, I hope they get there in time ). They are next to a train track! TRAINS! ( I personally love trains! Must be the kid in me). Everything is here, pool, game room, laundry facilities, and country store. The family who run this awesome place are just awesome. I normally camp in a camper but this time I reserved a cabin, absolutely love it! If you are a single traveler (THIS IS A SAFE PLACE!) This is my go to place to camp, hopefully I will be a (regular) status soon. Anvil campground is Amazing!

I was very disappointed with our stay at Anvil Campground. The campsites are extremely small, and nearly all of them are stone or asphalt, except for the so-called “tent” sites. Even those barely have enough grass to fit a six-person tent. Some sites have fire rings placed within about a foot of the fence separating campsites, which feels cramped and unsafe. The campground map is very misleading and not even close to being to scale. It gives the impression that there are green spaces, but in reality there’s a large, empty area in the middle of the park that feels more like a missing house lot than usable campground space. One of the two dog parks is laughably small—about 8 feet by 8 feet, minus the entry gate—making it essentially useless. Noise was a constant issue. A train passes the campground several times during the day and multiple times every night, and most sites are within roughly 50 feet of the tracks. The tent sites are the closest, making sleep very difficult. On top of that, every night we were there, a truck came in around 9 p.m. and idled its diesel engine all night long. There were also ongoing issues with management and upkeep. One campsite had a golf cart completely torn apart with parts scattered across the site for our entire stay. Additionally, I made my reservation over the phone, and they entered my checkout date incorrectly by one day. I called to have it corrected and never received a callback. Overall, the campground felt overcrowded (not a lot of people but no space), noisy, poorly planned, and poorly managed. This was not a relaxing camping experience, and I would not recommend Anvil Campground to anyone looking for a quiet or comfortable stay.

We’re an active RV family, and when planning our trip to the Williamsburg, VA area, we searched for a great campground close to the local attractions. The reviews led us to Anvil—and we’re so glad they did! This place was outstanding. Easy to get to, simple in-and-out access, and perfect for families. The arcade was a huge hit with the kids, packed with great games, board games, and more—and it was included. The staff was incredibly friendly and super helpful when we had questions about parks and tickets. Like always, we forgot a few things, but the camp store had everything we thought we brought. Big plus! We’ll definitely be back in the spring. The campground is small—but not too small—so you get space and privacy without feeling crowded like you do at some of the huge resorts. The sites here are laid out really well with plenty of room to move around. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Anvil! We can’t wait to return.

Our stay was in the BlackSmith cottage!! Very well appointed in all aspects!! Clean, smelled nice, and just the right size!! Location wise, it was near everything we needed and just far enough to feel in the woods!! For us it was a plus being right next to the railroad track!!

Now that we’ve stayed at other campgrounds we have really appreciated the cleanness of the campground and friendliness of the owners & the people who stayed there. 1. washer and dryer’s are available, have quarters or they will give change in their store/checkin place. 2. do not use pods, buy the powder in the laundry room or bring your own liquid. 3. showers and bathroom's very clean. 4. small dog play area:) they even provide clean up bags. 5. If you want a certain spot, it costs more but worth it if you want to pick a spot. Don’t throw a hissy at the owners if you don’t pick & pay for a spot when you reserve there and don’t get what you want when you get there! 6. pool is open into sometime in November small but warm and clean:) 7. Have fun & talk to some of the others around you if they want, it’s amazing what you can learn about rving!

We absolutely LOVE this campground. We had some vehicle complications and the staff worked with us and even encouraged us along the way. They were exceptional! This campground is beautiful! The train tracks are right next to it, making it feel like home. Lots of FREE things for the kids (of all ages) to do. We didn't want to leave. We felt very safe there! We will definately be back and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Anvil Campground. A++++

The Anvil Campground is one of the best we have stayed at this year. The staff is incredible. The campground is small with only 77 sites, but the attention to detail is amazing. Having the heated pool stay open until November is great. The bath house and showers are modern and extremely clean. WiFi worked great and playground is nice for the kids. While here they celebrated Halloween and kids could trick or treat. We will definitely return the next time we come to Williamsburg.

We stayed for just over three weeks in our RV while visiting friends. The staff was AMAZING! They were so helpful and accommodating for our needs. They allowed us to change our RV site THREE times before we arrived in order to provide us the most amount of room for a rig our size. If you have a rig 40+ ft, look for their front sites 72-78 I believe. They are premium sites but offer so much more room for your rig. The park was quaint but so very well kept! I saw some reviews about the train that runs close behind the camp. Oh well. A train runs. It wasn’t that bothersome throughout the night, but note that the born does blow during the day. Awesome campground that is close to everything and has the staff that makes the experience worthwhile! Will return again!

Just wrapped up a four night spring break stay here and we will definitely come back! The facilities are in great shape and the amenities are awesome. Our kids enjoyed the heated pool on a cool day and found the pool refreshing on a hot day. We loved checking out the general store, grabbing snacks, ice cream, and firewood as well as the arcade. We went with a patio site and highly recommend - the swing and concrete patio were lovely and where we spent every evening and most mornings! The best let about this place was the people - everyone we met working the campground was friendly and helpful, and the owners are always around to chat and help out as well!

My partner, 4-year-old and I came down for a two-day camping stay. We had an emergency and needed to leave a day early. Management was super understanding and accommodating. We appreciate all of their help and hard work throughout our stay. The campground was clean and calm. Everything was amazing and we will for sure be coming back.

First off, we are a full time family and are used to parks next to trains and roads. You will hear the train and it may wake you up but we never heard the road noise. Park was nice, clean restrooms and the kids had fun at the playground and riding on the golf cart train. Best arcade for kids we've seen so far. The store was nice and the staff inside was very kind and courteous.

Great place. Haven't done much camping but the bathrooms and showers were super clean as was everything else. The only downside was the trains that would rumble by. If you are a sound sleeper, beautiful perfect place to camp, if not might be something to thing about.

We are exactly 10 days into our stay at Anvil, and I must say... I'm impressed, happy, and also chill at the same time. The owners have done an amazing job to make sure our stay here is as comfortable as possible. The store is stocked will all of your needs and more! There are laundry facilities, and an AMAZING bath house that's better than some 5★ hotel bathrooms that I've seen as well. The game room accommodates all ages as well! It is close to all of your shopping pleasures and the entrance of the campground has a convenient bus stop right there. There is also a train that comes by a few times a day. It may bother some, but it is very relaxing to my family and I. Especially my 2 and 3 year old. What little boy isn't completely thrilled by a train up close!? 😁 Edit: Our trip came to an end, but I absolutely recommend Anvil as your family RV destination. The staff are wonderful. We will definitely miss them
