We stayed 6 nights in Big Rock CG in late September. There is spectacular hiking all around (Roaring Forks, Monarch Lake, and the many hikes in the lake area), plus you are 35-40 minutes from the west entrance to RMNP. There are no hookups but water spigots are available in season. We stayed after the water was shut off but found potable water at the RV dump in Granby (about 20 minutes away.). In addition to a beautiful setting, Paula the campground host made the stay spectacular. She is extremely friendly and helpful and came to our assistance twice when we had trouble with our solar panels. You can tell she loves people and loves her job. Kudos to hosts like Paula that make your stay so enjoyable! The CG is 8 miles down a slightly washboardy gravel road off Hwy 34. That road is especially beautiful in the fall. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing camping. Off the grid location is remote but still a quick drive back to reality. Stunning views and a great sunrise. Proximity to Rocky Mountain NP makes it a great base camp to visit from the park. Facilities were very clean as well.

Basic but decent non electric campground and toilets were pretty clean and maintained! Lots of wildlife; moose ran right through our campsite! Not that much privacy or bushes/trees from other campers tho.

Large sites lining a cove on the far part of Granby Lake. Easy access on a dirt road from the main road. Quiet, clean (pit toilets included!) and beautiful views. Bring your watercraft to play! Lake is quite low so the beach is much larger than usual this year. Not much shade so pack the shade tents with the camp chairs and enjoy!

We stayed at Big Rock Campground, which is nicely wooded. We saw moose each day we camped there, so I'd recommend that CG for wildlife viewing. It's a 10 min walk to the lake, so if you'd rather be closer to the water look at Moraine or Roaring Fork CG. Only gripe is that people speed along the road that connects them all, so find a site on one of the loops. None of the water spigots were running when we were there (June 2021), so fill the RV tank before you arrive. They did have one large water container for filling containers however.
