My third time at Cold Springs Campground, prior visit was 2 years ago. The entire camp ground is tidy compared to last time. Ordinarily I like to look out for litter and leave the place better than I found it, but i had difficulty finding scraps to pick up! Also of note: cell phone service was steady all weekend. Not sure if that is a good, or bad, thing! We were in space 18, good distance from the highway and pretty good elbow room!

Nice campground at 9500 ft. We drove up using recreation.go that showed plenty of FCFS sites available. Not the case. The only sites that are FCFS are 26-38. The others are FCFS during the week. We had to move after the first night and saw someone leaving so we jumped in their spot for the weekend. There was no shade but I lived to review about it. Camp host stopped by to say hi and explain things to us. Saw some wildlife and took a hike. It's a drive up here so be cautious.

Four of us tent camped in the far 3 back spots from July 7-11 and it was awesome! The campground had bathrooms that were very well kept and clean. The campground was also peaceful and quiet. Although there were no showers, just a small drive over to Base Camp and we were able to shower for $1 plus purchase ice and other goods in their store. Highly recommend this campground, especially for the scenery, location and price.

Loved it here. Campsites are spaced out enough and clean. Bathrooms only smelled bad for one day but otherwise were very well kept. Close to Denver but far enough to feel far off! Did have a momma moose and her two babies walk maybe 10ft from our campsite!

This place is a wonderful campground! Most campsites offer plenty of personal space, the bear boxes come with plenty of space for all of your food, and there's an awesome short hiking trail to get to a vista point nearby. It is near the highway, but I didn't mind the noise too much, especially during the night with very little traffic. There are no facilities other than pit toilets, but they are very clean!

We liked campground. Spots are spread out. Clean bathroom. Nice hosts. There are few small trails from camp. Only thing we don't like- a bit noisy from the main road. And great playground makes kids happy. Drinking water, no electricity.

Good campground overall. Site 24 was a great, shaded site for our trailer except for close proximity to vault toilets made for consistent odor into the site - it is what it is. Really cool hiking trail to beautiful view. Camp host loaned us jumper cables for dead battery on our truck! Site was clean and ready upon arrival. Vault toilets very clean. Noise level was quiet, was afraid we were too loud! Kids loved climbing and playing around the boulders behind site 24. Had a young moose (cow) walk right behind our site, couldn’t believe how close she was! Water was off during our stay, but was aware before we arrived. Close location to Black Hawk is cool, but not much in the way of restaurants that we found, mainly the casinos. Not sure you could get a massive trailer in the sites, but we’re a few decent sized rigs. It’s a good campground. Our experience that site 24 was great for us despite the random toilet odors. Were there early July, got warm during day for sure, but cooled off quite a bit at night.

we really liked this place. even tho there was no body of water within walking distance we still enjoyed it. bathrooms and water was nearby at almost every camp ground. raised toilet were always clean and there was minimal odors. well kept and frequently cleaned. the gentleman who watches it came by and introduced himself and told us he sells firewood and instructed us about quiet time. 10p. nothing negative to say. there was also a shell gas station about ten minutes away if you need anything, reasonable prices.
