The elevation provides cooler temperatures, making it a popular summer retreat.
Amenities & Park Features
As a rustic forest service site, Kelly Flats emphasizes a back-to-basics lifestyle. You will find vault toilets and hand pumps for potable water, but there are no electric, water, or sewer hookups available. Each site is equipped with a heavy-duty picnic table and a fire ring with a grill grate. While several sites accommodate standard RVs and trailers, the layout is best suited for those who do not require large-scale resort infrastructure.

The Cache la Poudre River, designated as a Wild and Scenic River, offers exceptional opportunities for fly fishing and whitewater rafting. Hikers can explore a variety of trails that wind through the national forest, providing stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks and frequent sightings of local wildlife like bighorn sheep.

The spots are big and if you can get one by the river you are in for a treat. I appreciate the first come first serve availability too

We went camping here this weekend. It was the best camp ground experience I have had in a long time. The host was great. She was sweet when asked multiple questions, keeped the bathroom as clean and stocked up.

Very polite people run this. Fire wood for sale. Drinking water for you and the food. Beautiful view.

Love this place. Took my 7 year old daughter here for her birthday. Camp host is always on it keeping things clean. Tent sites are nice, close to the water, bear lockers on sites, space to setup a canopy, fire pits with cooking racks on each site…. My only complaint is campers from the other side of the ridge making noises all night being blatantly loud. 1am till 8am. Absolutely ridiculous. My 7 year old was awake at 4 am and I couldn’t sleep all night from 1am on.

Absolutely beautiful. Camp host kept things very clean and tidy, including the bathrooms! Loved the sites right on the river, drive in was a bit scary with big rigs but paved roads in good shape, just sharp turns up against canyon walls. No cell service at all. Need to drive up the road to Rustic ( about 6 miles) for Verizon service. Would absolutely stay again
