Arapaho-Roosevelt/Tunnel

The Arapaho Roosevelt Tunnel is a mountain tunnel located in Bellvue, Colorado. It is part of the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel system, and is the highest vehicular tunnel in the United States. The tunnel is located on the Continental Divide, and is approximately 1.7 miles long. It was built in the 1970s to provide a more direct route between Denver and the ski resorts of Summit County. The tunnel is named after President Theodore Roosevelt and the Arapaho Native American tribe. The tunnel is well-lit and has a speed limit of 45 mph.
