Arkalon RV Park

The park is green, lots of grass and trees! Concrete pads, picnic tables and sunshades. Lots of room. Bathrooms are ok. Best park we have stayed at in a month long trip. We would consider it for a destination just to enjoy the peace and nature. As a bonus, there is a bird sanctuary and several nature trails. The last wonderful thing is that this place is so reasonable, we can't believe the value for the price! We are now hooked on county and city parks, not to mention state and national parks...

A surprise find. On our way from Arizona back to Iowa Liberal KS was a planned overnight stop. Arkalon (pronounced A-K-len) came up on Google. Owner Dallas was extremely patient on the phone to direct us into the Park. Water, electric but no sewer on a level cement pad was fine. View of the Samson of the Cameron bridge is quite the site. Picnic table has a shelter and close to a tornado shelter. The playground equipment was donated by a local school and very cool. Our stay was in March. Would love to come back in early summer. I would suggest picture postcards. They are cheap advertising

Hidden gem about 10 miles east of Liberal, KS off Hwy 54. Dirt road leading into park is easily accessible. We had no trouble getting in/around/out of RV park with our 47’ fifth wheel. Park hosts were great! The concrete pad on site B4 was a great size. Would definitely stay here again.

Only used campground and only stayed one night, but facilities were in good working order and the check in process was easy. The thing to keep in mind if you've never been here is that on the road in, you will question if you are on the right road. You are and you will eventually see a sign giving you that assurance but it's further than you expect. The other thing is the train tracks that run right by the park. Plan on bringing ear plugs if you are not a heavy sleeper. I'd stay again if I was passing through.

This park was a pleasure to camp in. We cant wait to come when the new planned bath house is complete. (The current one is very functional but could use some updating) We enjoyed the roomy spaces with tables and fire pits, the bird sanctuary, and the well maintained nature trails. We even enjoyed the train! We will come again and bring our fishing poles! If you are a bargain hunter… this is a hidden gem!

Great little stop in the middle of no where. You wouldn’t know it existed unless you looked. The hosts were wonderful, we truck tent camped and is cost us 5 bucks since we didn’t need hook ups! It’s quiet and nested away from the main roads Beautiful area with older but very serviceable showers and bathroom. Newer playground and large pavilion. We would come back easily.

Dropped in off the road looking for a place to pitch my tent for the night. I was given a choice of sites close to the restrooms/showers. Showers actually have hot water! Very nice location, very peaceful. Does get just a little highway and train noise but I personally did not find it unbearable. They have RV and tent sites. Prices are extremely great. If you are passing through or just need a place to get a way, this is a very nice choice. Staying only one night I didn't get a chance to explore the area much but I'm sure you can find plenty to do or just stay here and relax! Oh, and those who might be worried about tornadoes, they have storm shelters throughout the campgrounds. And, that reminds me, one thing you can do in Liberal is to go see Dorothy's House from the Wizard of Oz. 🙂
