Armitage Park Campground (Lane County Park)

We’ve stayed here at this hidden gem several times and we’re always happy to come back. This lovely green park, marina and campground is nestled amid the sprawling city of Eugene/Coburg. It’s so close to all the amenities that a big city offers, yet it’s completely insulated by the huge trees and rolling green areas. The campground sites provide full hookups with backins or pull throughs. We’re in a 40’ motorhome with a toad and we have no trouble at all maneuvering in this park. There’s a huge dog park as you enter the park and adjacent to the campground there’s a very large park for picnics etc. There’s restrooms, picnic gazebos and also a very small boat launch into the McKenzie River. This park has it all !!

Quiet hours not enforced. Generally nice for rvs, tent camping has good sites. Nice if you have nice neighbors. Host at front office would not even talk to our loud neighbors in the tent spot next to ours. Had his son tell us they were closed and to talk to them ourselves. The party went on till 2am despite our requests to the group. What is the point of the host living at the camp if they do nothing after office hours? At that point just hire an office person. I'd give 5 stars if the host actually did his job.

Stayed here overnight in our dream Airstream while on our return from the Oregon coast. It’s great here too. Plenty of shade. Full hook up. They have a dog run, showers, and laundromat for day use and long stay over. Highly recommended.

This is a great little camping park! The sites are level, paved, and nicely spaced. Most have at least partial shade. It’s quiet. The showers are clean (but could use a slightly longer automatic cutoff time, lol!) The laundry room is excellent! Spotlessly clean, quality machines, reasonable prices. Showers and laundry have a door code, so they are open 24/7, which is convenient. We’ve stayed here twice now while visiting family in Eugene, and would absolutely recommend it

Great camping/RV campsite. Staff is awesome. Environment is pretty with lots of cool trails and is located close to town. Walk along river, sun bathe, picnic, fire pit. The best part was the 5$ dollar fire wood and 3$ ice. Those really helped us. Good value. Only thing I didn't like was the showers. They are individual units and are kelp clean. But water timer and shower head was annoying. Otherwise great trip

We decided to make a stop here for one night as we traveled back home from Seattle to S. California September 2021. Did not make reservations and by the time we got to the park, the office had just been closed. The very nice lady who works there and lives next to the office came out and got us a site to park for the night. We loved this park! So quiet and rustic even it's close to I-5. Spacious site (#27) with full hook-ups and the price ($35) was just right. We did not do much since it was getting late but camping in the 'forest' made our day on this long stretch driving south. Would love to come back and spend more time here.

Nice dog park and recently added small dog park. Reservation system is very curious. All reservations must be done on line. Good news is there is a map so you can choose your spot. Maybe you want to be close to the bathrooms. However, if you pull in with no reservation at 5 on a Saturday night they will send you packing. But what about that empty spot right there.? It has not been reserved yet they forego that money and leave it empty. This was particularly annoying last year during the McKenzie fire.

We stayed here the max allowed, 2 weeks, and wished we could have stayed longer. We just started traveling FT in our Airstream and this is the third park we’ve stayed at. We’ve decided we much prefer this setting, a bit on the rustic side, in nature, surrounded by trees, with other “campers” in RVs and tents, who are there to camp, rather than live in full time. The site was large and easy to back into. It felt private. On one side, and in the back we had total privacy because of bushes and trees. The site was mostly shaded. It had grass, a fire pit and picnic table. It was rainy and cold so we weren’t able to fully enjoy it. We definitely would like to visit again in the summer. Tons of walking trails, great laundry room with commercial washer and dryers and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend! Oh! And there’s a great pizza place down the road, Coburg Pizza, for easy take-out.

This is a Lane County campground, and it’s simply wonderful. There’s a 14-day limit to your stay, as they don’t want “permanent residents.” However, you can move to another Lane County park or another park altogether for two weeks, then come back for two weeks. Lather, rinse, repeat. The camp host does a terrific job of making you feel welcome and resolving things that might come up. We had a FHU site, pull through, that readily accommodated our coach and two vehicles. There are fire rings with a cooking grate at each site, plus a picnic table. There are group sites to accommodate bigger gatherings. So far the park has been pretty quiet at night, and except for people ignoring the dog on leash rule, fairly orderly. There is a county dog park in this park, with a walking track around it, and plenty of new friends for your doggy. Big dumpsters for trash and a recycling bin. The laundry room has three machines of each kind, though one dryer is presently out of order. Machines are new, pretty clean, and work very well. The showers are pretty decent, though utilitarian. You get a little bathroom and shower combo to yourself behind a locked door. The shower itself has a 9-minute timer on it. The campground is on the banks of the McKenzie River only 5 miles north of Eugene. You also get mosquitos in season. There are a lot of nice trails to walk, including access to a former railroad bridge, now a walking path, that was built in 1889 (or maybe 1887). You can hear traffic and train noise in the distance, but I don’t find it problematic. Campsites are staged around paved loops, and there’s not a lot of space between them, but you are more likely to be parked end to end instead of side by side. This is a great park for access to city amenities - Costco is just over two miles away, plus many good restaurants and other parks with walking trails. The campsites have Comcast cable, which works well, and the wi-fi is fairly decent much of the time. At times I could even describe it as fast, but occasionally it would hiccup and throw me off. We chose a pull through space, but most of the spaces are back-ins. You can make your reservations online and choose your space from a map. Extra vehicles are charged $7 daily. Your camping fee includes your RV and one dinghy. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
