Let me start by saying * i didnt stay here* i did reserve a site here. Upon arrival i didnt like the campground and left. It may have been a better experience had i stayed but i was quick to judge. My site was in someones yard. The have cabins here and it looks like some are stayed in full time because some of the lattis was falling off. But literally the site was in the front yard of the cabins. It was weird. It was grass site for me and sandy site for coworkers. The hookups looked outdated also.

I paid for one month camping. About 1.5 weeks into the month the electricity started being shut off about 8AM. When the electricity is shut off there is no water. No toilets, no showers. This happened on a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Then the following Monday. I packed up my camp to look for another campsite. I asked for a refund for 1/2 of the month. I am a Senior on a fixed income. The Park Manager said she’d have to submit the request for approval. I heard nothing from Atwoods. I came back by several weeks later and the Manager said they changed our agreement to a daily rate (since I didn’t stay the whole month) and they owed me nothing. I went to the Mayor of Monticello’s office and spoke to her. She reluctantly agreed to send me a check for $200. It’s 6 weeks later, no refund. So I camped for two weeks, some days with no shower and lost food due my frig not running and it cost me $400.00 plus food. Not a bargain by any means. Also while I was camping here there was drug use in the women’s restroom. I found drug paraphernalia in the shower (as well as a bloody used pad) and a wall was opened to hide drugs. When I mentioned this to the Park Manager she wanted me to watch and identify who was doing this. I’m not sure what she gets paid for? There is no security at this park. Anyone can come and go anytime of night. Management doesn’t take responsibility all the way up to the Mayor.
