The flooding and lack of availability from staff is what did it for us. The only email I ever received was the actual reservation with the amount. We arrived on property and I had to use the restroom but did not have a code or any information. I called the number given to us for a camp host, and she was clearly annoyed that I was calling. She said that I should have received an email with all of the information and all of the codes which I did not. I even had two other people look at the email I received just to make sure I did not miss it but nothing was there. There is an annoying gray clay under the gravel that really sticks to your vehicles and is difficult to get off. We had two trucks and our trailer covered in it when we left. Our rig is a 38 foot travel trailer and the back stabilizers were in the grass because the concrete slab was not long enough. There were three washers one had a sign that it was out of order and one stopped working at the end of our cycle and did not spin so we had sopping wet clothes. They charge $1.50 to dry, but that is only for 30 minutes. We had to use 3 cycles and our clothes were still not dried. The only positive about staying at this location was getting to see the resident alligator which we called Gary.

Honestly, I think it was timing that caused this rating. Getting on base and navigating to the RV park was easy. There are large concrete pads to park on, however, it was a swampland for sure, it rained a lot which caused everything to be waterlogged, there is "clay" underneath the rock on the road, which when wet goes everywhere. If you have dogs, they will get dirty. The laundry was "ok", however, I feel one of the washers wasn't spinning, so clothes took longer to dry, washers are $1.50 as well as dryers, however, you only get 30 minutes when drying (definitely need longer). The change machine was broken and the lady in the office unfortunately did not have quarters. For $30/night, it's not bad, if you are wanting to check out the area.

Nice large back in paved spots. Easy to pull on base (35' + tow) and find park. Noise from planes/helicopters next to park was ok for us but dog hated. Easy to New Orleans. Toll bridge was free while we stayed due to maintenance but now not. Would stay again but not with our easily noise stressed dog.

I'm staying for a month. I'm impressed with it. I'm 100 % service and and no sponsor was needed for me. But get the pass from mwr and then go to front security for getting added to the system and then you can go on and off aa if you lived on base.

As of early 2022: There WAS 2 sides to this park. The "long term" side is closed and unlikely to open. It was temporary to start with to provide options after hurricanes and is no longer funded. There is a "Campground" side that is super nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly and there is a worker taking care of the grounds that puts in some serious hours. Max stay is six months with a months vacancy required before returning. The power is 30 and 50 amp and has been very stable. Sewer at each site and a dump station available. Utilities included in rental rate. Most sites are double concrete pads. You'll park on a fairly level slab with a nice paved patio side. There's WiFi that runs max about 5mbps. It can get bogged down during evening hours but there are plenty of nodes that give a strong signal throughout the park. WiFi is run by Navy MWR and requires a free account and login daily. Cell coverage is good from the big three carriers. No complaints about the water taste with plenty of pressure. Laundry is available and cheap. There are clean bathrooms with showers as well. There is a small pavilion with games to check out as well. Roads in the park were good when we got here then it rained for two weeks straight that took a toll. They are on it tho because I see a delivery of fresh gravel. It is on a military base. You'll need the normal credentials to get on base. You should expect military sounds but they don't last all night. You do get a free airshow daily. There is a large commissary and exchange walking distance from the park. The rest of the base is clean and well kept. It's a joint reserve base and gets pretty quiet sometimes. The local area is kind of at the edge of town. Expect about 30 minutes to French Quarter, more with traffic. About 15 to get to other big shopping areas with the typical urban stuff.
