Located in the high desert town of Alpine, this family-owned park offers a no-frills, reliable experience for travelers exploring the Big Bend region. The park is known for its genuine hospitality and its position as a central hub for regional road trips across the desert landscape.

Location & Surroundings

Situated at an elevation of over 4,400 feet, the park benefits from a temperate high-desert climate that is often cooler than the surrounding desert floor. The surroundings are characterized by rolling hills and distant mountain peaks, providing a scenic backdrop for every campsite. Being just minutes from downtown Alpine, guests have easy access to local grocery stores, unique art galleries, and the historic Sul Ross State University campus while still enjoying a sense of seclusion and privacy.

The park is designed to accommodate a variety of rigs with spacious pull-thru sites that make arrival and departure simple for larger motorhomes. Guest facilities include:

  • Full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electrical service.
  • Reliable water and sewer connections at every site.
  • On-site laundry facilities and clean restrooms with showers.
  • A dedicated pet-friendly area for exercise and fresh air.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Alpine is the perfect starting point for the famous Texas Mountain Trail. Guests are within a short drive of the McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis and the famous minimalist art installations found in Marfa. For nature enthusiasts, the north entrance of Big Bend National Park is less than two hours away, offering world-class hiking and stargazing opportunities. Locally, visitors can explore the Museum of the Big Bend or hike up Hancock Hill to see the famous mountain-top desk overlooking the town.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for long-term travelers and retirees who appreciate a quiet environment without the noise of a crowded resort. It is also a perfect fit for Big Bend explorers who prefer to stay in a town with full services rather than camping inside the park. She had a very rude tone when we first met her I figured she was just having a bad day, no! that's just how she is but we over looked it she has a Reasonable price it is on the small side the trees and yucca plant made it difficult to pull our Camper in there my husband had to cut it back some if he wouldn't have we wouldn't have been able to pull out our sides The insects were pretty terrible flies and mosquitoes were very annoying so we stayed in the camper the whole time unless we were going into town the water pressure was so low she was telling me she may not allow dogs there anymore, so if you have dogs you might want to call and ask first and see if she's still going to go forth with that plan or not before bringing your dogs to this campsite. I know we live in West Texas, I know there's bugs I'm from West Texas and I'm telling you now! you have a bug problem it's excessive that's all I'm saying there's bugs where we are now and besides you're hard to talk to because you're so rude that's why you lost two other campers have a great week.

We are The Certified RV Techs, a mobile RV  repair company based out of Fort Davis, Texas.  We stopped by today to speak with the manager and left some business cards but she thought we were there to discuss repairs for her and said she was busy and didn't need anything.  To clarify, we were there in case a customer asked if she knew any techs in the area for repairs on their motorhomes.  The state of Texas requires differing licenses for propane transportation, filling and RV repairs.  According to the state of Texas, as of today, we are the only techs within our 3 neighboring counties with the training and licensing to work on propane in RVs.  We also do repairs on plumbing, electrical, roofing, AC, furnaces, and slides.  Please call with any RV repairs you may need. Four three two 249 two four one four.  Perhaps we will be able to meet with the manager at another not so busy time.  Thank you.

Nice, safe and quiet place. Few minutes from the towncenter. Full-hook up with reasonable rate. Woke up with the view like this from campsite 20.

Stayed for 6 weeks and really liked it here. It's not a huge park and outside of town a bit so it was very quiet and peaceful. Since it's surrounded by ranchland with mountains in the distance it is scenic and the sunsets were fabulous. Spaces are big and there are a lot of trees in between. I was working remotely from here and the internet was excellent. In the whole 6 weeks I was there it was always blazing fast and reliable. They have a fiber internet connection and good wifi infrastructure. The prices are beyond reasonable, very affordable. Laundry room was clean and easy to get to.

Free water, electricity, and wifi. Fit for 50 amp connections and sewer. Also best price in town. Great deal. Laundry, restrooms, and showers available. Many rabbits. Can see the mountains all around.
