Out jeep riding and found Baker Creek State Park. Parked and had our picnic and it was very peaceful as we were the only ones there.

Exactly what we needed for a birthday celebration. I can't give 5 Stars because of these tiny black bugs crawling EVERYWHERE. The staff was amazing tho!! Bathrooms(mens) smelt really bad. No soap, no paper towels. These are small amenities that are easily available and should always be there because it's not busy!

**⭐⭐⭐ 3/5** Bakers Creek State Park is a nice, quiet spot with a lot of potential, but there are definitely some drawbacks RV campers should be aware of. The site I had was very spacious and well-shaded, which made for a comfortable stay. There’s a short trail from the campground down to the lake—great for fishing and swimming—but be cautious near the water. The red clay mud is extremely slippery and tough to clean off shoes and clothes. Some jagged rocks along the shoreline could also be a hazard. The biggest downside is that none of the campsites are level, so be prepared to do some work to get your rig set up. Only the camp host has sewer access, and the bathhouses are old and not well maintained. The dump station was closed during my visit, and most campers were backing into the host site to dump before leaving, which isn’t ideal. The road conditions leading into the RV sites also need attention—lots of rough patches and potholes. On the plus side, the ranger's office offers kayaks and boats, which is a nice touch. Overall, a decent place to camp if you’re looking for a peaceful setting and are okay with roughing it a bit.

Baker Creek is very pretty, laidback family oriented state park located adjacent to Lake Strom Thurmond near McCormick SC. There’s a really nice Pavilion with incredible views of the lake that also includes the Park office. Awesome campground and bathrooms are very clean. Park appears to be well maintained. Hiking trails🥾 were closed due to Hurricane Helene. I enjoyed my visit. Fun Fact: Lake Strom Thurmond is (1200) miles of shoreline and (71,100) acres of water create an excellent experience for bank and boat anglers alike. Fish species include largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish, perch, striped bass, white bass, and hybrid bass.🎣 #SCStateParks🪾 #SupportStateParks⛺️ #HappyPlaces❤️

Awesome sites. Most on the water had level sites. Was clean.. issues with the outdated bath house . Glass on the floor in showers. Extremely outdated. Was the worst bathhouse so far. But the water was hot as long as you need .Had some great views and a wonderful 4 days . Probably will be coming back. Next year
