We stayed in an Otentik - #48 (I’ll attach a photo of the view from this site) What a cool experience staying in one of these - much more comfortable than a tent! The heater came in clutch on one of the mornings where it was super chilly! To the left is another Otentik which is spaced out perfectly so you can’t really see what’s going on from that site to the right is a tent site with no privacy. 2/3 staff members we interacted with were friendly - the other was a bit rude. I’ve worked in hospitality 10 years and was a little thrown off with that being our first interaction. There was no firewood when we arrived at any of the designated stations in the campground and when we inquired staff said they don’t get deliveries on weekends - we were staying Saturday and Sunday. She also said the Tunnel Mountain Campground had none either. Kind of odd .. so you might want to bring your own - if you don’t want to have to run into town and buy some! Overall it was an awesome experience being lakefront! I feel very lucky to have scored a 2 night last minute cancellation!

Best campground close to banff of your lucky to get a spot. Parks employees are awesome, the sunsets are spectacular, if the aurora come out, you are in for a treat. Bring a paddleboard or kayak, the lake is usually calm and peaceful.

One of the best campsites I’ve stayed at in the Rockies! We stayed on site 6, which had plenty of room, and a direct path down to the lake from which you can launch paddle boards etc. Facilities were great, except the site had run out of firewood - so worth bringing your own so you don’t get caught out. Will absolutely be back here!

Site was nice. We liked the wood-bordered tent pad. It was the perfect size for our tent. The pad accommodates tent dimensions up to 12’ by 16’ Although the campground does provide firewood, the firewood sites are uncovered. It had rained at least a day before we arrived, so all the firewood was wet - very difficult to burn! Also they don’t seem to keep it stocked up because all that was left when we arrived were the leftover scraps, until a couple of days later. Another inconvenience is that they have their “through” lane barricaded off. This means that every time you leave the campground for any reason, you might be waiting in a lineup of cars for 10-15 minutes just to re-enter the campground. Showers and washrooms are decent. However, the dish-washing sink in our area was in disrepair. The taps were loose and difficult to turn on/off. At the gate, they told us they are a “highly sought after campground”, which is why they close the through-lane and need to interview every car upon arrival. It seems that the other shortcomings mentioned above may be due to the fact that they are always full anyway, therefore they don’t have to try very hard to please their guests.

The best campsite I stayed in the Canadian Rockies by a long shot. No matter where you are it’s either on Two Jack Lake or less than a minute walk away. The ground is soft (though there are a ton of rocks under the surface making tent pitching kinda hard), the nature is unbelievable, and the rangers I had were super nice. If you’re staying in southern Banff you should find a way to get Lakeside. If you use the notification tab on the booking duty you will find a spot.

Thousands of mosquitoes but pretty nice for experiencing wild lifes.

The site are pretty close together. So if you want space from your neighbors you won't be getting any. Bathrooms aren't that clean but it is what it is, and you're camping.. So let's get real. Super close to the lake though!

Wonderful campground by the lake with lovely views and friendly staff! The facilities are basic, but clean (the showers are very much appreciated)! Great place to stay if you are planning to camp in Banff area!

Beautiful campground! It was worth every penny. When they say Lakeside they meant it! It is extremely magnificent. Although, hard to reserve. Tip- Make sure to check every hour to see if anyone cancelled. (They usually cancel when there is any chance of bad weather)

We loved this campground! My only reason for not giving 5/5 stars is that the sites aren't very private, but the lakeside makes up for it. Very clean bathrooms and free showers, which are a plus, but the best part is having access to the lake. Lots of the sites are right on the water so you can keep your kayaks/paddleboards right there on the shore, 10 feet from your site, the whole time. Super close to town, as well, but still feels nice and secluded.
