Can't beat the location! So close to Hull's visitor center and Bar Harbor. The campground itself was nicely kept up. We stayed in a tent in the tent/RV section with water/electric hookups. It was nice to be surrounded by trees instead of just one huge open field. That was more for strictly RV sites. We walked around our first day and realized most sites would be great to stay. The ocean view spots had a nice view of water and mountains, but also a simple walk from other sites to see it. A nice place to call home for the week!

We stayed here in a class A MH for four nights, 30amp and water, pull thru site. What a wonderful place! Reasonable pricing, excellent location, very friendly folks! Sites were spacious, clean and attractive. Heavily wooded area for tent camping. RV sites were more open (which we prefer). Shower houses were clean and .25cents for five minutes but definitely seemed much longer. We bought live lobsters and my husband thought (on a whim) that he would see if the front desk might just happen to have a lobster pot. They sure as heck DID!!!! That blew us away 💞🦞

Great campground close to Bar Harbor with the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound across the road. The bathrooms were clean. Showers cost 25 cents to use for five minutes. The sites were a little uneven so leveling can require some blocking. Not a huge issue m, just be aware. We had a 50/30 amp site with water. Full hookup sites were limited. The host told me that within two years all sites with water/power will be converted to full hookup. The views of the ocean were stunning.

Had a great 6 night stay at the campground the week after Labor Day. We started off in a tent site, but moved to an electric/water site for the last two nights. There were plenty of openings as it was the end of the season. Staff was very accommodating. The issue was, there is a strict no generator rule, and we were planning to use ours. The bus stops here which is excellent. Facilities are great. Good dump site, plenty of trash receptacles. Campground was very quiet and there is a variety of site types. Bathrooms are clean. Showers are great and well worth the 25 cents for 5 mins. I would definitely camp here again for easy access to Acadia. There’s an excellent coffee shop up the road, and the lobster place across the street is not to be missed.

Our family stayed here three nights while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was a great camp ground! We loved the heated pool and laundry facilities. The bath rooms were clean and the showers were hot. Also we loved that the free bus to the visitors’ center came right to the camp ground and was just one stop away. The only downside was the walk from our RV campsite (way in the back with a great view of the water, and close to the playground and pool) was a long walk but you are probably visiting Acadia to hike so it’s not that big of deal or maybe bring bikes if you don’t want to walk back and forth. The staff were very helpful. And bonus it is right across the street from a great lobster pound and ice cream place!

My husband and I have been going here for over 30 yrs and was always pleased until last year when it was taken over by American Campgrounds. No more first come first service, no choice of campsite, no benefit for staying more than a week. No improvements made either. Very sad

We had such a lovely stay at Bar Harbor Campground. We spent our days walking the dogs around the campground, and biking to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Everyone was so friendly. Can't beat that view, too! We were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights! We can't wait to come back.

We stayed here last year for a night in the tent only ocean front lot. We came back this year for a week in the S loop. I was a little nervous reading the reviews on the new ownership but we had a wonderful time. The spaces were large and private. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I saw someone most mornings cleaning them. Showers were hot! All of the staff we met were incredibly friendly. There is a laundry facility on site. Excellent proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We have camped in the National Park before but the sites here are much nicer, larger and quieter. We can’t wait to return!

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NEW MANAGEMENT! Our family have been very happy campers under the previous owners for many memorable years. What made this campground exceptional was their flexible model of first come first serve and owners who genuinely cared about their loyal campers, many native to Maine. Over the years we met some wonderful residents who appreciated how affordable it was to take their family on vacation. We recently had to cancel our reservation due to an unexpected family issue and were not able to get a refund. The previous owners understood their clientele and were very fair as they weighed each incident as needed. The new owners seem to use their policy as a one size fits all rather than trying to work with and accommodate existing customers during this transition. This campground grew and excelled over the years from word of mouth and sadly I don't see this to be the case now. Prices have doubled and the overall satisfaction with management is questionable for many regulars. It's a shame what has unfolded and for many families, this beautiful location will no longer be an option.

Great campground with amazing views of the bay. The campground was huge with great trails running along the coast. The trail was in a meadow, with pretty plants, wild Maine blueberries, and wild cranberries. The campsites were clean and pretty. The sites were also mainly free of bugs. The laundry room was nice. Wash and dry were 1 dollar, and there was a change machine that accepted 1 and 5 dollar bills. The public bathroom was sort of clean, and the showers were really nice. The shower was a quarter for 5 minutes. There was also a nice TV room and a quaint little rustic arcade. There was a lobster place right across the street from the campground (of course), and there was a bus stop that shuttles people around Acadia for free. I love this campground, and I highly suggest you stay here if you’re visiting Acadia!

Staff were wonderful over the phone and during my stay. I was a bit nervous since They don’t take reservations but there were plenty of camp sites to choose from. (Non peak stay in September ‘21) I camped in the woodsy s loop but there were spots with an ocean view (just more exposed and closer to the RVs) that I *might choose next time. Bathrooms were super clean and well lit, and available 24/7. Great spot to enjoy Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Wonderful kind staff. First come site selection. We stayed for a week and scouted out the best site and we snagged it for our last three nights. Convenient to downtown Bar Harbor. Would definitely return next time we are across the nation.

The staff was friendly and relaxed. They have you drive through and pick your site. The tenting sites on the S-Loop are private and quiet. Everything was neat and well maintained, even the fire pit. And the bathrooms were squeaky clean! Anytime I go to Acadia in the future I’ll be staying here.

Another post said they couldn’t get through on the phone, but I did just fine getting through. They are definitely not short handed when we arrived in person- they just only have one phone line. The office was fully staffed all 4 times I went in there. It has two lines for registration. We arrived at 1 on checking in day on a Saturday and did just fine finding our own flat. private tent site surrounded by trees. We stayed at S12, and would highly recommend it. The showers were very clean and cost $0.25 for every 5 min of water. Showers have hot water. I never had to wait for a shower either. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff were very friendly and kind and we’d absolutely stay here again! We only stayed one night this trip and it was $36 for the one night on a weekend in a private site. Likely cheaper for the less private sites and perhaps when not on a weekend. This price was very fair and well worth it. Very close to Acadia hiking.

The third place I lived in my life was for the summer of 1974 after my mom left my Dad, it was gorgeous place to be then.
