Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA Holiday

Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA is the only campground on the west side of the island, so pull up a camp chair & watch the pastel sunset spread across the horizon from your waterfront site or sunset patio.

Update as of March of 2022: Acadia National Park will requires a "Car Pass/Reservation" to drive the Loop Rd or to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Click here for more information.

5,316,000 Lobsters are eaten in Bar Harbor every year. Shouldn't one of them be yours?  We think so and so does our Lobster Dude... serving them up 5 nights a week.  Learn how to "Eat Like a Local" steamed not boiled of course.  Or pick fresh Mussels fresh from the shore.  Steam them up with a little bit of garlic and Atlantic Brewery's Stout and dipped in butter.  Yum!  Recipes and steam pots are available at the store.

When it's time to explore the island, jump on the shuttle from Bar Harbor KOA campground directly to Acadia National Park.  When you get back to camp the fun doesn't end there.  Join us for the planned activities for the young and the young at heart.  Bring the kids to Central Park every Friday night for S'Mores or one of the many activities.

While camping at Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA, don't forget that we at the camp store pride ourselves on being able to take care of all your needs while visiting the island.  We carry the camp basics like hotdogs (Fenway Park Kayem), bacon and local eggs, S'More fixings, the best selection of local beer, wine, ciders, as well as, tarps, flashlights, firewood, and ice.  Just ask and we'll deliver it all right to your site, no delivery charge.  Can't find it, tell us, we'll do everything we can to get it for you.

If you couldn't tell by now, we love it here at the Bar Harbor KOA, let us show you how much!

Stayed in an Oceanside cabin here on a recent trip to Acadia National Park, and my wife, dogs, and I loved it. The cabin is cozy and spacious, right on the water, with a propane grill and a fire pit... Literally all we needed. There's also a gas station nearby thats within walking distance so it's easy to get more firewood, drinks, whatever without having to drive away. We did have some issues with hot water in that it was fairly nonexistent, but we worked around it and it wouldn't be too big of a deal if it's warmer out. When we come back up this way, we'll definitely look at staying here again.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Acadia. The cabin was absolutely perfect: clean, warm, & well stocked with kitchen and bathroom necessities. The campground had a lot of activities for kids and everything seemed well kept. Only a 15 mon drive from Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia. We LOVED our stay here. We would definitely stay here again!

We have been full time for 5 years. We are here doing the North east color tour. We tow a car hauler and booked their big rig friendly site for $135 a night. Once we got there they said they couldn't accommodate us. While there was plenty of places to park our car hauler they said no we weren't allowed. Take it to Walmart they suggested...... We were treated like second rate citizens. I will never return again to this campground. Smugglers den or Narrows too were both incredibly accommodating and kind. Choose to give them your money. They explained to me that this is a corporate owned campground which makes complete sense as to why they don't care at all. When trying to make our reservations as well, we called at 7:00 at night for after hours and the gentlemen who answered the phone was rude and not at all helpful. STAY AWAY from this campground. To many other good ones to waste your time and money here.

We loved this camp ground. The employees were so kind when we checked in! However, the woman cooking lobsters was extremely rude. As well as the woman making breakfast the next morning. Maybe just a bad day for both. Food was great. We were also 15 minutes behind leaving as we had an issue with one of our slides. We had an employee waiting on our campsite 5 minutes after 11:00am for us to leave. We get checkout is at 11 but to be sitting there watching us was odd. We were out of there by 11:15. By the time we were finished hooking up our truck he was already done checking our site. It seemed unnecessary and only doing it to make a point. Great spot and amenities. I wish they would enforce the speed limit a little more. We witnessed a few close calls.

One of my happy places. Amazing views, love being able to wander the tidal areas during low tide. Great location for access to Acadia and Bar Harbor area. Windy at times right on the ocean, fair warning. Good sized sites, could be a bit more level. Bath houses, laundry could be nicer/cleaner. Big dog park, but it was frequently nasty from folks not cleaning up after their pets. Shame on them, but the campground should have someone do doggy duty more frequently.
