Bass Lake RV Campground

Overview

Bass Lake RV Campground provides a serene escape for travelers navigating the busy East Coast corridor. Located just minutes from the highway, this park serves as a lush sanctuary centered around a beautiful stocked fishing lake. Unlike crowded urban parks, Bass Lake prioritizes a quiet, natural environment where guests can enjoy the gentle sounds of the South Carolina countryside. The park is well-maintained and offers a balanced mix of rustic charm and modern convenience for short-term and extended stays.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of Dillon, SC, the park boasts an incredibly convenient location near Interstate 95. This makes it an ideal waypoint for those traveling between the Northeast and Florida. Despite its proximity to major transit routes, the campground feels worlds away from the traffic. The surrounding landscape features mature trees and open skies, providing a peaceful backdrop for those looking to explore the Little Pee Dee River region or simply enjoy the rural charm of the Pee Dee area.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with modern RVers in mind, offering a variety of functional and recreational amenities. Highlights of the facility include:

  • Full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electrical service to accommodate all rig types.
  • Spacious, level pull-through sites that make setup easy for large motorhomes and fifth wheels.
  • On-site laundry facilities and a clean bathhouse for guest comfort.
  • Access to the private lake for catch-and-release fishing without requiring a state license.
  • A fenced-in dog park and community clubhouse for social gatherings.

The paved interior roads ensure easy navigation throughout the property, even for those driving significant rigs.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the campground itself is a quiet retreat, there is plenty to see in the immediate area. Just a short drive away is the iconic South of the Border roadside attraction, offering unique shopping and dining experiences. Nature enthusiasts often visit the nearby Little Pee Dee State Park for hiking and birdwatching. For those interested in local history or golf, the city of Dillon and its surrounding courses provide ample entertainment within a ten-minute drive of your campsite.

Who This Park Is Best For

Bass Lake RV Campground is the perfect fit for I-95 travelers who want a reliable, quiet place to unhook for the night or several weeks. Beware of the road coming inside of the campground. There’s massive potholes all over the place. Not sure why they haven’t filled those holes considering it’s a campground and we’re all driving large rigs, typically. However, the site was wonderful! The water pressure was the best we’ve ever experienced at a campground!!! WiFi was good too. It was very quiet and peaceful. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet!! Would definitely stay here again! Just please fix the potholes 🙏

Definitely only an overnight spot IF you can't find anything else . The driveway in is a rutted mess , our site was horrible full of tree roots making it difficult to walk or have a level spot. Camp map shows there is a pool..no pool. But a lake for fishing. It's mostly a full time trailer park .

Loved our overnight stay on our way back home! Great location right off of I-95, easy in and out. Beautiful lake we hope to return and enjoy and the bath house was the nicest we've ever seen at a campground. The owners and staff were very friendly. The unexpected bonus was that it's located at the same exit our favorite fireworks store (Jabs) so we stocked up for our 4th of July party.

Deduct one star for the condition of the roads, but otherwise it’s clear that they are working hard to update and improve the site. We only stayed one night, and road noise from the nearby highway is constant. BUT that means it is easy on and off! I always think you can tell a lot about a place by its bathrooms, and the owners clearly agree. The men’s room is one of the best I have seen on a campground, no mean achievement. WiFi was spectacular, a huge plus! We will definitely stay again on our trips up and down I-95.

We stopped for a two night stay. Fellow campers were quiet and considerate of fellow campers. My husband commented on how nice the office staff was, I did not meet them. There are a lot of tree ruts and fire ants, neither of which were a big issue for us. The day was filled with highway noise, the night was quiet and peaceful. The dog park was large and equipped with dog stuff. The only thing missing was a poop station like other campgrounds provide. This was not an issue for me as I always carry my own. The campground has plenty of signs reminding campers to clean up after their pets. Yes, there is a lake with a sign it has alligators. I did not see an alligator and I did not fish. The price was comparable to other campgrounds in the area. There is no pool in this campground. The bath house seemed nice, we did not use it. The laundry room appeared clean, we didn’t use it. The gate opener was broken, I guess someone ran into it. It was not an unpleasant stay.
