Great camp ground!! We came for the fall colors but realized it was going to be a bit too cold for tent camping with a 1 year old. I was able to call their very friendly staff and upgrade to a brand new cabin that was perfect for the chilly nights. Will definitely return!

We had such a great camping trip at Bear Den! Very family friendly! 10/10 recommend. We brought a pop up camper but they have regular tent sites, RV sites and a variety of cabins (basic and fully furnished). The campground was quiet and relaxing, had clean bathrooms and the staff were so friendly and welcoming! They have fishing on site and a few different hiking trails - two of them lead to a waterfalls. One of them is a long hike to the big waterfall and fairly challenging so keep that in mind if you have little ones. If you have little ones, I’d recommend the shorter hike to the smaller waterfall or if you are a beginner hiker. You can play in the creek there as well. The campground is conveniently located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway so you can enjoy the beautiful drive. There’s also an apple orchard nearby, and it’s not too far from Linville Caverns. Highly recommend if you are looking for a family friendly campground during leaf peeping season! Mid-late October was the best for that!

From the beginning when Kurt made the reservations with Kris Ann we were treated like family. He told her we liked to be off by ourselves and she personally got on her golf cart and checked out a good spot for us, Site B22. It was beautiful and quiet and we were very comfortable there. When we got there we had the pleasure of meeting Moses the GM and his daughter Britany. Moses is quite the character and just a good soul and Britany was as friendly as can be and they both have led very interesting lives. After all they have been through last year with Hurricane Helen and the floods you would never know their heartache by their joyful and helpful attitudes. I found out Kris Ann and I have a lot in common including our love of postcards! (Be on the lookout for some). Even though I didn’t want to/did want to see a bear we never did see one. We would highly recommend Spacious Skies Bear Den in Spruce Pine, North Carolina for the beauty, peacefulness and the great people who run it! Kurt and Leann Langbehn Crown Point, Indiana

Very nice rustic campground, they are still recovering from the hurricane last years but most spots are open and wide n clean. The office staff was so friendly and helpful. You get a daily text making sure you are comfortable and asking if you need anything. The extra care was so nice. I rented a golf cart and it was worth the cost. Ran well for the 4 days 3 nights I was there. I was in spot D11

Absolutely Loved This Campground! Beautiful place with hiking trails, waterfalls, lake, playground for kids, arcade room with pool tables, jukebox, ping pong tables, fishing, golf cart rentals and so so much more to do and enjoy! Also dog friendly and has its own little doggie park! This won’t be my last time going for sure! Definitely plan on making this a couple times a year trip from now on!!!
