We were able to book a last minute water & electric site which was awesome! They allowed us to go scope the sites that were available out before selecting one. The pool was great , the beach area was not overcrowded, & the bathrooms kept pretty clean. We found the sites not to be cram packed shoulder to shoulder like other campgrounds. Our children loved being able to ride their bikes. All campers seemed to be respectful of quiet time. We had an amazing time! So why the 3 stars? I'm super surprised no one else has mentioned this, not sure if it's normal for campgrounds at this time. But they have a bad Hornet problem. We were running from the hornets all over the camp ground. We thought it was just the nest between us & our neighbor but after taking a walk around the campground every site seemed to have Hornet traps up. They even sold them at the store. Not sure why they don't get it professionally sprayed. Luckily we found out that no one in my family is allergic to be stings as they all got stung a few times each. This would be a 5 star review if not for the bees.

We booked two tent sites for 4 nights. A guest of ours had a medical issue come up, so we had to cancel our second site from the get go. The website said no refunds for cancelation, so we knew that going in. One of our guests ended up coming along that was supposed to stay on the second site (my Mother), but we added her to our tent on our site so that she wasn’t in a site all alone. The office charged me another $40 to add her to my site, on top of the $106 that we forfeited for cancelling that second site. Couldn’t believe they would do that, but they did. To add insult to injury, Beaver Creek was able to book another party on the second site, the one that we had cancelled. So they essentially collected twice the payment for that site. They kept our money even though we ended up not needing the site. Understandable. But when they were able to fill that site with another group that came along, they should have refunded us our money. I went to the office and said “We paid for site 229 and ended up telling you that we were cancelling it. I see that there are campers on the site. Since you were able to fill the site and collect payment from them, can we please get refunded?” I was told no. No explanation, just no. So just be aware that they will double dip and not think twice about what is fair or what is good business practice. Left such a bad taste in our mouth. Also something to note, when we had originally reserved the two sites, we asked for two sites next to each other. The sites they recommended to us were not next to each other. On the map they were. But they were separated by a bit of a walk, many trees, and a downhill bend on the road. We would have not have been able to share our getaway together with these two sites. So be aware of that as well if you need two sites next to each other. Make sure you clearly explain that you’d like to actually be together. The campground itself was beautiful. Tall trees, gorgeous lake, and fun amenities for the kids. The bathrooms were very clean, but very outdated. One of the nights we stayed was a Friday night. Apparently Beaver Brook does not monitor the grounds after dark. A huge crew came in around 8pm and setup camp, taking up the three sites behind ours. They blasted music so loud, as loud as a live concert (seriously) and kept it up until 3am. My mother was literally tying clothing around her head because her ears were hurting. No one in our family was able to sleep the entire night and it ruined our entire Saturday. There were several loud parties going on. They were all yelling across the camp to each other and competing to see who could blast their music louder than the other. I’ve been camping for my entire life and I have never witnessed such disregard for others at a campground in my entire life. Not only that, but to have no night time monitoring by any employees was unbelievable. We’re totally used to hearing parties on Friday nights while camping. However, this was a volume that was completely absurd and there was ridiculous yelling and screaming among adults….for hours and hours, until 3am. All in all, the grounds are beautiful. However, the way they do business and the lack of enforcement on the property leaves us not wanting to return. If you do book here, we recommend not staying on a Friday night if you have a tent. The noise could really ruin your experience.
