River side very scenic however we were surprised that we couldn't put our kayaks, wade in water ect. because of Hydro water release, the siren sounded when water was being released. We had to drive our motor home about 2 miles put in enjoy the paddle up stream port around another bridge for a 4 hr excursion (total) that quenched our desire to paddle very beautiful.

Although more popular and crowded than it used to to be it’s still worth it! Beautiful fall leaves during this time of year. (Second week of November) The parks and campground restrooms are well maintained still. Love all the nature! The river, the trails, and the look out from the bridges.

Our first time visiting, and it was such a great experience! We got a little turned around at first, but the receptionist was super helpful - she gave us a map and even drew directions to all the trails we wanted to hike. The trails were well maintained, clearly marked, and had amazing views. We also enjoyed fishing while in the park as well. Can't wait to come back and visit!

First time coming here and we are definitely coming back! There is so much stuff to do! We stayed at a cabin and it was very relaxing listening to the birds and insects at night. Great way to escape! Word of advice, we could not get service while we are at the park so make sure to download your maps so you can still find your way around.

An absolute gem of a state park! Beavers Bend State Park is unlike any other park I’ve experienced in Texas or nearby. Nestled in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma, the park is surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and some of the freshest air you can breathe. The drive from Dallas itself was a treat, with scenic country roads leading into the heart of nature. Once inside the park, there’s so much to explore and enjoy: A great swimming beach and plenty of picnic areas. Spacious RV spots and camping areas perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views. The Beavers Bend Dam overlook, which gives an incredible panoramic view of the lake. The Broken Bow overlook on top of the mountain — absolutely breathtaking, with the lake framed by distant hills and forests. There’s also a nature center and a small museum with fascinating artifacts and history about Oklahoma, which adds a nice educational touch to the adventure. Whether you’re here for hiking, boating, fishing, camping, or simply a peaceful retreat into nature, Beavers Bend has it all. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who wants a refreshing escape into the outdoors!

Our group had a great time!! We used Tree Frog Kayak and Canoe Rentals and they were awesome and super accommodating! This was everyone in our groups first time to kayak so it took us longer and they waited. The girl that checked us in was super helpful and funny! The scenery in Broken Bow is beautiful, and the locals are super welcoming, polite, and kind.

This state park is absolutely gorgeous. I loved my time here. Water is nice and cold on those hot summer days. Plenty of beautiful trails, spots to swim and scenic vistas that seem almost movielike. I highly recommend doing the whole loop through the state park. It is amazing and worth the time to do.

This State Park is beautiful and well maintained. We had to go inside the Forest Heritage Center to buy our parking pass. The lady who took our payment for the Day pass was so helpful and super friendly. She really helped set the tone for our day with her cheerful attitude. If you have Verizon as your cell provider you will not have cell service to pay with the QR code. The gift shop has a great selection of souvenirs. We hiked Tree Trail, Cedar Bluff, Pine Ridge and Friends Loop. Cedar Bluff was my favorite. Not nearly as crowded at Friends Loop and still has a great view!

Went for a long weekend in October and it was so lovely. I parked my RV at the Cypress campground which was clean and accommodating. The whole state park has so many activities and is very family friendly. I hiked, stargazed, and relaxed. Must see! Plan ahead because it’s a very popular spot!

Slice of heaven on earth…. It’s been many years since I found a place as wonderful as this park. The bathrooms were top notch and extremely clean. The sites are well maintained and clean. The park staff are present and helpful. The spillway is stunning to sit and watch. The views are incredible at this park. Site 2 in Acorn was the perfect site. Near the spillway to go fish, fish off the bank if we wanted and close to the bathhouse. The swim beach was clean and easy to access. I wish I would have booked a whole week at this park and I already plan to in the future. 5 stars!!!
