Families can also enjoy the open green spaces and a playground for children.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for visitors to this area. The Boone River State Water Trail is a major attraction, inviting guests to spend the day paddling or fishing for catfish and smallmouth bass. Hiking trails wind through the timber, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife photography. Just a short distance away, travelers can explore the small-town charm of Stratford or venture further to discover the historic bridge sites and local Iowa heritage that define the Hamilton County corridor.

We could not have had a better time. Needless to say, it is mostly an RV Park but there are at least 5-6 tent spots and they have THE BEST view of the river. So I call that a WIN!! Dogs are allowed, they have nice fire rings, flushing toilets, showers, sweet campground hosts AND the river access is great. My husband and I want to bring kayaks next time. Just know that tent campers and RV campers have very different bedtimes, so if you can’t sleep without it being silent — this might not be the best spot for you to try and sleep while the other campers are still awake at 2am. Didn’t bother us, just a lot of background noise for a good nights sleep.
