It’s a short easy trail walk to see the bison. It’s better to go early morning before it gets hot. They are large and prefer cooler weather. We have been in several different months and have seen them many times. They come in to eat and are usually in the front pasture, they have been in the middle pasture which is walkable, around the fenced in area to the left side. Handicapped accessible pathway in back of gift shoppe shows mammoths and giant sloths.

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground! It is a beautiful location with great activities. We really enjoyed making hiking sticks, learning about the Atlatl, vising the museum/site, and hiking the trails. A huge thank you to the staff for putting on great events! The campground has access to trails, mini golf, and clean bathrooms. The sites were paved (but not very level) and roomy.

Went on a good day, nice walking trail. Cute gift shop/museum. Seeing the bison so up close was awesome! They were really close to fence. Gotta love the hills and the woods. Also a site for camping, and a couple playgrounds for the kiddos.

Very nice little visitor center with lots of information, gift shop restrooms. Just when there to see the Bisons. It was 98 F. It's a very short walk from the parking lot 200 ft, mostly in the shade. Definitely want to go back for more to see and have a picnic.

It is a great area. The museum is nice and bathrooms were clean. The bison trail and trail next to the museum were nice. We also did the other trails and wish they would have been a little better marked. We had a really nice time though!

Great campground and museum! We enjoyed seeing the bison (we saw 7) but had hoped in the spring to see a “red dog” (bison calf) but no such luck. Campsites are nice, well spaced and many are partially shaded. Bring an extra hose as the water hook up is further than normal. Also bring leveling blocks, even our “flat” site was not flat side to side. Museum was a pleasant surprise, we truly enjoyed learning of the history of the lick, the ties to Lewis & Clark and the native Americans. Ranger & museum staff were super friendly & knowledgable. Located about half way between the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum (about 30 minutes to each). Well worth the stay, even has a pool for summer visitors

I liked this park a lot, but the main reason we went was to see the bison, and only saw one and he left the visible area shortly after we got there. The trail around the bison area was also quite muddy the day we went and goes to a dead-end, it would be nice if the trail wrapped around the bison viewing area or at least looped back around to starting point. The other areas of the park are nice, pleasent spots to picnic and walk on trails. We will try to visit again in the spring to see more bison hopefully.

The campground was excellent. This definitely stands out as one of the most well maintained campgrounds I’ve been too. Everyone including your fellow campers are friendly. The coin washer and dryer were a great benefit as well.

Beautiful place! Wish we had more time. Great for children and adults. There is a path for a stroller /wheelchair but the last half of the walk was unpaved. We were able to make it all the way to the end in a double stroller but it was a bumpy ride. You do not need to go to the end to enjoy the beauty. I'd suggest to pack a lunch since there are picnic tables outside of the visitor center. Inside there are bathrooms some cool artifacts and a cute little gift shop. Highly suggest to visit if you like nature.

Very nice smaller park. Lots of wildlife to be seen including deer and bison. The trails are easy enough and their is alot to learn about paleontology if you are in to that. Loved the campground and the sites were spacious. The park is very dog friendly!! Restrooms are abundant. 5 stars all around!!

Camped four nights because of its location between the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Very quiet. Staff patrols a lot which is actually kind of comforting. Staff was very helpful.

I dropped my youngest off here for the afternoon and all I could think to say was, "Bison!" This place has a hilarious name but is actually really amazing! I have done several hikes and trial runs here and always enjoyed it.

Great area with the bison and things to see (lake is closed, to viewing and use). Would be a great campground if water hookups were closer than 50 ft to camper park site. They will sell you a 50 foot hose in the camp shop for $27. Also helpful to bring many extra leveling blocks. Our site was out of level about 22 inches. All sites around us have multiple blocks. Store sells them if you need more.

Their campgrounds are immaculate. They do a very good job keeping their facilities and grounds clean. The sites all have electrical and water hook-up and are nicely spaced out so you don't feel like you're on top of neighboring campers. It's a great stopping point for michiganders breaking up a trip to Florida.

Great park, very clean but bring extra leveling blocks and 2 fresh water hoses. This was the largest L to R discrepancy in any park I've been to. We had to raise the passenger side 5". I also saw several sites with a huge front to back difference. One guy's rig was raised so high i could almost walk under the tongue of his trailer (definitely an exaggeration but it was up there). I had a 100 ft fresh water hose and it wasn't long enough, luckily I've experienced this before and had an extra hose. Very cool seeing the bison and there are plenty of hiking trails. I gave only 4 stars for the REALLY uneven sites.
