Absolute favorite in the North Fork and the hosts Scott and Trish are absolutely fabulous! They really take care of their campgrounds but especially their campers! ❤️

The road to the campground is not paved and REALLY bumpy - they told us there was torrential rain recently that made the road horrendous to drive in but there are 2 ways to get there. Choose the route that only has 2 miles of unpaved road - towards the north fork/polebridge, then towards Columbia falls. Otherwise, the site is very pretty with a creek nearby. All campers were so nice and the camp host, James, who was filling in for the other camp hosts for a week was amazing - coming around frequently and offered us coffee and a hot shower in the morning. Great stay!

Big Creek Campground is managed by the USFS, and they do a great job. It's 50% reserved campsites and 50% walk-up campsites. Also, several group sites. The on-site hosts are wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable. The campground lies next to the beautiful North Fork of the Flathead River. It has launching for day use rafting and fishing. Spacious, level sites with gravel pads, good for RVs and tents. A picnic table and fire pit w/grill Available potable water, and multiple clean, well stocked pit-toilets. It's pretty much everything you could want!!!

This place was out of the way, and you have to drive on some gravel road, which isn't that bad. You end up in this small, quiet, peaceful place. The hosts at the entrance were very nice and informative. We thank you guys for everything. Definitely recommend this place if your the type looking for basically an off grid camping spot. Bring your headlamps/flashlights and don't bother trying to use your devices there is no signal here which is great. A few people had generators. It's roughly half an hour from Apgar, which is where you can grab all you need and have some peaceful lake time on Mckenzie Lake Fabulous place

Absolutely stunning area, with a fairly clear view into Glacier National Park depending on where you look. Be very careful of bears, though; you must keep in mind that you are in the middle of bear country. Also, don't drive too fast in the campground. The dry climate makes it so that driving too quickly causes thick clouds of dust. The camp host, who is very nice and super helpful, recommended that I even drive below the posted speed limit of 10 mph. 5 would be about perfect, if not even slower than that.

Pam who runs this place is the best! If it weren’t for her we would have had no where to stay in Glacier…..the first come first serve rat race is very difficult and stressful. This campsite was beautiful and very quiet. We also met some awesome people that we plan to keep in touch with! Pam made our time in Glacier great and I would highly recommend staying here. A few quick tips, if your planning on doing any hikes or driving the going to the sun road, get up very early. If you don’t there are no parking spots anywhere and it’s brutal.

Fabulous couple of nights right on the North Fork river. Gorgeous scenery. Deer strolling throughout the sites in the early morning. Several first come first served tent sites were available the morning we arrived, we stayed without a reservation without waiting in any lines. The facility was clean, the toilets were well maintained. The campground host was friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Half way through a two week stay at this gem of a campground and already don’t want to leave! Started out very rocky ... blew a truck tire halfway down the unpaved 10 mile road with no cell service. Lucky for us Dean the camp host drove by about a minute later, recognized us as one of his campers, and helped us change our tire (first time for our truck). He also was able to send us to a local friend to get it replaced quickly and easily. Very grateful! He does a great job hosting ... lots of answered questions for us Montana first timers. Beautiful riverfront site #12.

Great campground! We live in Columbia falls, so this was a great getaway close to home. The sites were clean, bathrooms clean, and the host was GREAT! highly recommend.

Beautiful campground by the river! I had the best experience and was so happy to have Dean as my camp host! As a solo girl traveler, it can be scary to camp where you don’t know anyone and he made me feel like a part of the family! The camp ground was exceptionally clean (including the pit toilets). 10/10 would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning!
