Stayed there the first week of September 2025. Great quiet place on the creek, decent sized clean sites, and pet friendly. Highly recommend if you're wanting to be in the area to see what that part of Missouri has to offer.

Great campground. Very clean, well kept. Super quiet. The owners are very friendly. Go over all the activities that are scheduled for the day. Really nice people. Grandkids had a blast, playing in the creek, petting, feeding the animals and swimming in the pool. Pull through sites are very accessible. Big rig friendly! Restrooms are single private restrooms with showers.

We completed the second half of our summer camping vacation at Big Creek and we had a wonderful time. The family that owns the park is so friendly, hardworking, and welcoming. They take the cleanliness, peace, and safety of their property very seriously. While I see that this has caused some disagreements in the past, their rules are not unreasonable and make the park more pleasant than your typical state-run facility. In fact, we had left Montauk to come here and kept remarking on how quiet and clean everything was in comparison. Montauk was dirty and absolutely run over with loose pets and kids on bikes during our stay. You will not find that at Big Creek. About the park: We visited the creek and it was a perfect little spot to cool off and let our son catch tadpoles and crawdads, but the pool was my son’s favorite feature. It was on the smaller side but perfect for the kids to have their fun. Their bathrooms/showers were pristine and very spacious. The petting zoo was cute and the goats are always hungry so bring your quarters for snacks! Visiting the coffee shop on Saturday and Sunday was such a fun treat, Laura really knows how to make a delicious latte. And the night sky was unbelievable, bring your telescope!! The area: Big Creek is very close to our favorite river spots and many other attractions, all within a 30 minute drive or so. You must bring your own supplies and food with you, there is just not a good place to shop nearby and that unfortunately comes with the territory (very rural). Those who are familiar with this region would know, but those from out of town might not expect the lack of resources. There is a Dollar General with cold groceries about 20 minutes away in Lesterville, and that’s it, so be prepared. There are some okay restaurants in Caledonia, which is a cute historic town to spend a day doing some antique shopping and browsing. Make sure to look up local river spots and plan a day on our gorgeous Missouri waterways! They are the best. Unfortunately we left this trip early due to cancelled plans/thunderstorms, but I’m already looking at a return trip in September for the apple festival in Caledonia. We look forward to our next visit!

This was our first—and unfortunately last—visit to this RV park. Despite the website promoting a family-friendly atmosphere, that was not our experience at all. We were traveling with another family, with a total of six kids between us, and felt very unwelcome. Many of the guests appear to be long-term residents who didn’t appreciate having children around. One neighbor in particular was extremely rude and even harassed my son for briefly stepping onto his site. While we understand the importance of respecting boundaries, the way it was handled was completely uncalled for. To make matters worse, this same person was driving well over 20 mph through the campground, and nothing was said or done—yet we were followed and watched closely as soon as we arrived. Another inconvenience: there's only one trash can, and it’s all the way at the front of the campground. For a family of five, that became frustrating very quickly. The property itself is beautiful, but the overall environment and treatment we received were disappointing. Sadly, we won’t be back.

The nicest RV park we have been to in all the years we have been on the road. The owners and their entire family are the nicest host you can imagine. Facilities are top notch. Our grandson loved the petting zoo and being able to feed all of the animals. The coffee shop on the weekends is the best. They make one fantastic mocha frappe. We highly recommend anyone considering camping or glamping in the area should consider this RV park. I would rate TEN stars if the Google reviews allowed it. Great job guys!!!!

Very clean campground, the owner and his wife try to help and be as reasonable as they can be. Only thing I will question is why they were worried about how I approached the campground from the highway and entered (I was going 20-30 mph on entry and still braking)? Then, they proceeded to interrupt their dinner to chase me down to my campsite and harassed me about the 5 mph rule (at MOST, I was doing 8) but there were also times I was only doing 2 or 3 mph. They also claimed they heard me go in to 3rd gear, which in a 6.7 Powerstroke is typically between 20 and 30 mph. I fully understand that rules are rules, but if we aren’t absolutely for sure on a speed and can’t tell if the speed is actually being broken, we don’t need to be chasing people down to harass them.

Awesome family campground & RV park. Owners are the utmost friendliest family committed to accommodating their guest to enjoy their stay. If your looking for the perfect family RV, knowing your children are safe to enjoy the great outdoors with bike riding plus the Big Kids can enjoy the peace and quietness. Very nice firepits for your family or friendship sharing memories around the fire. Every weekend filled with events for everyone. RV sites well maintained level with full hookups, many shaded. Shower/bathrooms kept very clean 5 stars on this. Camp store very well stocked plus firewood (not just a small bundle) You can purchase just an evenings worth or the whole day and propane available to. I highly recommend this park for your family camping event.

We enjoyed staying at this campsite! Near several state parks and the state high point. The family who owns the campground was very friendly. My toddler loved the playground and farm animals! The bathrooms were very clean. We also enjoyed the walking trails.

Just spent several days at Big Creek. We generally stay at State Parks as we don't like too much going on but liked the location and thought we'd give it a try. We were very satisfied with every facet of our visit. We enjoyed the beautiful creek, the location, the nature path, the goats, chickens (and eggs!), cow, the very well kept grounds, pool, restrooms all were perfect. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly, a nice store with lots of helpful info and supplies.

Pros -Full hookups with cable tv -Level pads -Clean facilities -New playground equipment -Nice store and ownership -Central location for several adventures Cons - Slow WiFi, can’t stream but it can be nice to unplug for a bit -Spots can be a little narrow but not a deal breaker -Had to use extensions to reach hook up boxes so plan ahead

We looked for a place that had full hookups so that we could de-winterize our RV. We didn’t have any grand expectations but this little RV park was amazing... We filled up our propane tanks and bought fire wood both at amazingly reasonable prices. We showed up after the office had closed but Patty the owner met us and got us checked in. Wonderful customer service... First hick up was the next morning when the water spigot wasn’t working .. We called her and she told us what to do.. The temp had dropped below freezing over night and it had frozen. Within with 10 min she was at our site to make sure it worked.. Which it did.. Thanks for the amazing inaugural weekend.

We just stayed at this campground for 4 days and the owners definitely know what they are doing! This is one of the cleanest and most organized small campground we have visited. The attention to detail from the spotless restrooms, printed out travel directions to all the local sites, pool and patio and the clean and well maintained sites. We will be back! Thanks for such an enjoyable long weekend!
