We traveled here for a wedding and 2 weeks before so we could enjoy my hometown and spend time with friends, about a month prior, they attempted to book us a site near their seasonal lot. At that time, they were assured it would be arranged. Two weeks later, they were informed that the booking had not been made and that the site had already been taken by someone else. We then reserved site L17, with the understanding that we would have to move later, which we were fine with. We checked in last Sunday, but even the day before we were scheduled to move, no site had been planned for us. The night before the move, at 9:00 p.m., we went to the office to follow up and discovered that no arrangements had been made. We were given two options: 1. A seasonal lot, with uncertainty about when the current holders would return. 2. A site too small to accommodate our truck, camper, dogs, and children. We ultimately chose a site in the new area. On the day of the move, I called to request a discount due to the clear mismanagement of our booking. The manager was extremely rude, condescending, and attempted to shift the blame onto me, even stating that she did not have to allow us to stay given how many bookings she had. Based on this experience, I strongly advise avoiding this campground. Several seasonal holders I spoke with also expressed dissatisfaction with the manager’s handling of the campground.

Mediocre at best. Management/staff is near impossible to get ahold of and arrange anything with, different people tell you different prices for the same site. Charge exorbitant rates, but don't put the profits into anything but making more money. Clean the outhouses/shower? Nah. build more cabins? Yep! Golf carts are accepted in the campground. But no set hours so you have either unsupervised kids or drunk adults ripping around till 3am or later, and back at it by 9am. I didn't come to the lake to listen to gas golf carts ALLLLLLLL day. How about dragging the beach to get rid of some of the weeds? It's a 2 hour job with the right tools once or twice a year and would greatly add to visitor enjoyment. We only come since family has a yearly site here, but general consensus is mass disappointment. My fiance and I will buy a lake lot somewhere and make it ours and enjoyable at a much nicer location way before we make this place a regular occurrence.

Cabins are brand new and beautiful. Pool was warm and the kids loved it. Golf cart rentals were $68 for the day and the kids were allowed to drive them as long as they had a learners. Special shout out to the girls that work at the front desk. Had to write a review to say how good they were!!

What a joke. Trying to book for AUGUST and Jasmine booked us for SEPTEMBER. Trying to call them back to fix their mistake since Thursday and the line is constantly busy, or if you get through it’s an incompetent worker who can’t take care of the issue and says “we’ll call you back” you’d think in 2025 a business would be able to fix their own mistakes or atleast own up to it. Call them at 9am on Monday morning and the line is busy. Get through at 9:15am and Hanna says that they are super busy. Okay well you guys are busy every time I try and call so how the hell is a customer supposed to get through? You’re telling me that just because I’m calling over the phone you can’t take care of my issue but if I drove down there personally you’d be able to? Nice. Also pretty sure she is still booking the wrong cabin because now when I called back she’s got an attitude 😂 girl you’re the one who messed up. Why you giving me attitude. Learn to run a business and accommodate your customers. EDIT**** Don’t even bother putting your card information on their website because if they make a mistake in booking and charge you they won’t wait 24 hours until the refund has completed and gone back into your bank account before booking and charging for another cabin. As if people just have $700 laying around to be taken from their bank accounts, have it go negative, get an NSF fee and still have to wait 24 hours for a refund.

We stayed at Big Fish Bay for a weekend in early July, and honestly, we couldn’t wait to leave. The place was a huge letdown. The campsites are packed way too close together — no privacy at all. You can literally hear every conversation from the next site over, and we felt more like we were in a parking lot than out in nature. The washrooms were dirty most of the time, and the showers were either freezing cold or just didn’t work. We saw staff around, but it didn’t seem like much was being maintained. Garbage bins were overflowing near our site, and the smell wasn’t great in the heat. The lake looks nice in pictures, but the shoreline was full of weeds and the water was super murky. We planned to swim and hang out by the water, but that idea was off the table pretty fast. Worst part? The noise. There were loud parties both nights we were there, and nobody seemed to be enforcing the quiet hours. It was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. We ended up packing up and leaving early. It just wasn’t worth it. There are way better spots in Alberta that are actually clean, quiet, and taken care of. I wouldn’t go back.
