Big Oaks RV Park & Mobile Home Community

Overview

Big Oaks RV Park & Mobile Home Community offers a peaceful retreat shaded by its namesake mature oak trees in the heart of Spring Hill, Florida. This well-established park combines a permanent residential feel with welcoming spaces for short-term and seasonal RV travelers. It serves as an accessible base for those looking to explore Florida’s Nature Coast while enjoying a quiet, community-oriented atmosphere that emphasizes relaxation and neighborly connection over high-energy resort activities.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Hernando County, the park is conveniently located near the Suncoast Parkway, making travel to the Tampa Bay area and local airports straightforward. The immediate surroundings in Spring Hill provide a suburban yet scenic environment, characterized by lush greenery and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. Guests will find themselves in the heart of the Nature Coast, close to essential shopping and local dining, while still feeling tucked away from the heavy traffic found in more densely populated coastal cities.

Amenities & Park Features

The park focuses on providing essential comforts that make long-term stays or weekend getaways easy. Guests have access to full hookup sites equipped with 30 and 50-amp electrical service, ensuring compatibility with most modern rigs. On-site amenities include a refreshing swimming pool, a clubhouse for social gatherings, and dedicated shuffleboard courts. Clean laundry facilities and well-maintained bathhouses round out the practical features that help visitors feel at home during their stay under the canopy of oaks.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the park’s proximity to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, where visitors can watch the famous mermaid show or launch a kayak into the crystal-clear spring waters. For those who enjoy the beach, the scenic Pine Island Park offers stunning sunset views over the Gulf. Golfers will find several highly-rated courses within a short drive, and the nearby Withlacoochee State Forest provides ample opportunities for hiking, cycling, and birdwatching in a protected natural setting.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for seasonal snowbirds and retirees looking for a low-key, affordable place to spend the winter months. Because of its calm environment and residential layout, it appeals to travelers who prefer a neighborly vibe over the transient feel of larger commercial resorts. It is also a great fit for nature lovers and self-contained RVers who want easy access to Florida’s springs and coastal parks without sacrificing the conveniences of a settled suburban location.

We visited Tallahassee this weekend for the opening weekend of college football. We were pleasantly surprised at how close this park was to the field. It was a 20 minute uber ride. Very clean bath house and sites were very well kept. Definitely will stay here again next time we are up this way.

So much happier here. I was at Gulf Breeze a few months, definitely a huge step up here. I feel safe, its clean and no homeless coming out of the woods. Candy has been a great manager so far for me.

Love this place. We’ve been here for a few months while house hunting. Couldn’t be happier.
