First impression when we drove up was it was very pretty and peaceful. But it was a different check in process. The lady was sitting on the deck outside the office and didn't ask or name but said what site we were in. She took us to the site and helped us back in. I asked if I needed to go to the office for any information etc. She said no and drove off. It is my fault for not insisting that we go to the office. We were given no wifi code, we had no idea where bathrooms and showers were, no idea where trash went, nothing. It appeared that almost all of the RVs were either permanent or seasonal. We figured since we were one night it wasn't important for them to make sure we had all the information needed. That was definitely a first for us. We had to go walk around to figure things out. Our site was right in the middle of a group that st right outside our trailer and loudly carried on conversations until after 11 pm. There are several trailers that had for sale signs on them. Had we known that everyone was seasonal, we would have stayed elsewhere.

One of the best campgrounds I've stayed at. It has the best bath/shower setup I have ever seen and the seasonal campers are really friendly, which you don't always get. Absolutely beautiful property! Will be going back again and again.

Absolutely gorgeous RV Park. I stayed there last fall, and enjoyed everything about my experience. Jared, the host, was friendly and helpful, and very diligent about maintaining the grounds. The bath facilities are the nicest I’ve seen. The huge Norway pines are lovely, and attract a variety of birds. Highly recommended!

Park is great. Only 30 minutes from the mouth of the Mississippi River. Be sure to enter the park from main highway. Do not take a turn at the roundabout south of town as Google Maps suggested. This took us through several turns on a very rough gravel road.

Overall we enjoyed our stay for a week/over July 4th. There is plenty of space in between sites. Wifi worked great. Super clean facilities. It seems that a large portion of the park is seasonal guests. Nicest park in the surrounding area. Manager was very nice. Only Con: We have a 40ft FW- they really need to escort the large rigs to their sites because their map is not geometrically correct plus there are lots of trees to maneuver thru with tight turns.

We recently spent a one night stay at Big Pines Park. The sites are large and level. Easy to back into. Ours had been freshly raked. The bathhouse is new and set up like mini bathrooms. I wish I could keep my bathrooms at home as clean as the bathrooms in the park. There is a mowed trails down to the river. A huge plus for me was that I didn't find one tick on my dog. The park is close to the town of Park Rapids. It was also very quiet. Jason, the manager was very friendly and helpful. The owners have a gem with Jason as their manager. We have spent many years camping and I can't think of a nicer park we have ever stayed in. We will be back to spend more time at Big Pines. Great job, Jason & owners!

We have had wonderful time at this beautiful little Campground in Park Rapids. Yes, RIGHT IN Park Rapids, yet totally peaceful, and quiet! Check it out! With great amenities and walking to do, and a stream tuning along side it, covered by a canopy of beautiful pines, it is the best kept secret in Park Rapids, MN! Thank you Jason & Jared for your help! We will miss you and the campground!

When we arrived, it was a gloomy evening at Big Pines, with POURING rain. But as we pulled into the Park, Jared the Manager, met us. We didn't even have us get out of the truck! Immediately, we felt like Kinfolk returning home, after a long absence! Being September of the 2019 camping season, most sites were open. With the pouring rain, Jared encouraged us to drive through the grounds, look the sites over, and if we saw an easier site to maneuver into, we were welcome. Then he led us on foot, through the huge pines of the rain soaked grounds, making sure we got properly parked. We wouldn't have been able to manage alone, in such rain. Jared's kind and thoughtful hospitality, MADE our first night! He waited once we parked, making sure we didn't have any questions before sloshing off, (soaked to the bone), he never lost his smile, as he looked back, and waved. The grounds are beautiful, especially in Fall! The private Bath Houses are awesome and spacious. Even with pouring rain, many sites have been upgraded to improve parking. It's a scenic park, in a convenient location. We were greeted by friendly campers, AND it was QUIET. We watched deer wondering through, several evenings. The laundry & game Room are also nice. We're looking forward to the 2020 Camping Season at Big Pines! Thank you for the genuine hospitality!

We had a blast at this beautiful campground. The sites are huge with stone fire pits and a picnic table. We drove in thinking we were driving into a neighborhood. It’s very close to town and only a short 35 minutes to Itasca. The kids loved the playground and riding bikes around the gravel roads. There is an outbuilding with a shower and gathering place with two arcade games, but we didn’t use them. We’d definitely come back.
