Big River RV Park

Overview

Big River RV Park offers a serene getaway on the banks of the Colorado River. Located in the quiet community of Big River, California, this park provides a mix of relaxation and outdoor adventure. Unlike the high-energy crowds often found in larger river cities, this destination maintains a laid-back atmosphere where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the Lower Colorado River Valley. It serves as an ideal home base for those looking to combine water sports with desert exploration.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just across the river from Parker, Arizona, the park enjoys a prime location for riverfront views and easy access to local services. The landscape is defined by the striking contrast between the blue water of the Colorado River and the rugged Mojave Desert terrain. Its position in San Bernardino County makes it a convenient stop for travelers moving between Southern California and the Arizona desert, offering a cooler microclimate right near the water's edge.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is thoughtfully designed to accommodate a variety of rigs with full hookup sites and convenient pull-through options. Essential facilities include clean restrooms, showers, and laundry services to ensure a comfortable stay. Water enthusiasts will particularly appreciate these park features:

  • A private boat launch for seamless access to the Colorado River.
  • Well-maintained pet-friendly areas for walking.
  • Spacious sites designed for easy maneuvering of larger RVs.

These amenities ensure that guests can enjoy the river lifestyle while having all the necessary comforts of a managed facility.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the water, visitors can explore the historic Parker Dam or head to the Emerald Canyon Golf Course for a unique desert golfing experience. Nature lovers often visit the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge to observe local bird species and diverse flora. For those seeking indoor entertainment, the nearby casinos in Parker offer dining and gaming options just a short drive away from the peaceful tranquility found at the park.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent choice for boating and fishing enthusiasts who want immediate river access without the noise of more crowded commercial resorts. It is also well-suited for winter snowbirds looking for a mild climate and a friendly, quiet community to settle into for the season. Whether you are a solo traveler seeking a peaceful stopover or a family wanting a home base for river activities, the park provides a balanced and welcoming environment.

Disappointed, arrived after office closed and was told where to park. Spot had a broken water line that leaked under our unit to the neighbors. They tried to say we backed into and broke. Because of the water running tried saying it was our sewage of which we didn't even hook up to. There's old decapitated buildings everywhere of which we were parked next to one. Not a friendly place, Be Ware!

Had a great stay at Big River RV Park recently. What really stood out was how well-maintained everything is. The grounds, the facilities – it all felt clean and well cared for, which always makes for a more comfortable stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot where they clearly pay attention to detail!
