The Big Timber KOA, managed by Jonathan. Probably one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed in. Just really top-notch. One row of sites actually has their own hot tubs. Lots of worthwhile items in the office store, great amenities. I cannot say enough great things about the manager, he is a sincere man with a desire to make your stay wonderful. The cast iron sewer covers, for your hookups, are the best I have ever seen. They fit on your connector to keep it weighted in place.

The setting we have is by a very small creek under some large shade trees. We have a small young dog and there is a nice green area for walks and also a dog fenced play area. This KOA has a lot of trees, nice grassy areas, and the bathrooms are really clean. Every employee we have met has been very nice and helpful! They have a cute store with an assortment of items and (when we were here) they have fresh made breakfast burritos for sale! One of the nicest KOAs we have stayed in on our 2 week vacation

The campground as a whole is nice. Our only real issue was the train that went by and honked at all hours of the night. The store does have ear plugs available. It is recently under new management. Some additional improvements could be made: the pool area could be improved and the raspberry/blackberry bushes removed to improve the bee/mosquito issue around the pool. The restrooms are nice but could use some light cleaning and blue lights or something to help reduce bugs in the facilities. There are a handful of campsites with dedicated hot tubs (we’ll be looking into those next time). The jumping pad was just fixed the day we arrived, and the kids enjoyed it. The store is well stocked and provides tasty breakfast burritos each morning while supplies last. They also have a variety of frozen meals and a place to prep them as the nearest restaurants are in Big Timber (about 9 miles) and limited. Overall a very nice facility.

We stayed here for 3 days in July 2025. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are some issues they should address. The pool is supposed to be heated, but it's not. Navigating within the campground is tricky because the roads and sites are so narrow. We had to off-track a lot into the grass, which is fine as long as there are no other rigs in the way. Our pedestal was damaged by the previous visitor, probably from tailswing trying to navigate out. The campground store and building is nice, and they have pool and air hockey and a nice playground area with jumping pad. Road and train noise can be loud.

The staff was friendly. I would however not come here again. When you go to get to your spot it’s so confusing the whole time I was there I saw everyone doing multiple circles trying to find their spots. I feel like they should take you to your spot the other koas I have been to drive you there on their golf cart. No one seemed to clean up after their dogs on the K9 park. The garbage there was disgusting and overflowing. The bathrooms in the morning were filled with bugs on the sink and flying over the lights. They offer free ear plugs in the store because of the traffic and the train being right there is kinda annoying when you are just wanting some peace and quiet. Another thing is the fact that everyone just walks there your camp site.

"Large" pull through spots not large. When reserved we gave all details about our rig. Spot has BBQ on one side and hookups on other side leaving no room to put slide outs completely out. We had to place our rig partly in the driveway to put slides out and stairs down. The park itself is beautiful but the large pull in slots as advertised will not fit large rigs. For reference our rig is 37 feet, we have 3 medium sized slide outs. Also, directions given in email might take you to wrong location. Office just shrugged at me and said it happens.

We stayed here twice in 2021. Very nice well kept campground. Very accommodating people that run it. Planning on staying again this summer when heading out west.

I wish the waterpark was still opened. I wonder why they closed it. I want to see photos to when it was opened. I think it became abandoned in 2012 or 2013? I know I went there from 2010 to 2012

This campground is on the smaller side but has very long sites. There is plenty of space to park even the biggest rigs. We stayed here in a 42 foot 5th wheel and had a ton of space for our truck in front and behind the RV. They have cool things for families with kids, A jumping pillow, playground, game room, pool, and a kids cabin. Great place if you don't have kids as well. This place was quiet except for the trains that are coming through all day and night. We stayed for 14 nights and never got used to the train noise. It's not the campground's fault so I gave them a high score due to the great service and clean bathrooms and showers.

Great campground with numerous fantastic amenities! Locally owned, the staff was top shelf. Especially Josh! We couldn't find a hotel in the entire state of Montana for less than $300/night and no campsites available anywhere. Luckily Josh had a patch of grass for us even tho I called after the office was closed. Then he called me back after someone cancelled their res and got us a site with full hookups. Highly recommended!! Thanks again Josh!!
