Nice campground with great views, extremely frustrated I had to drive 8 hours over 3 days replacing 3 wheel bearings on my trailer roll in at 11pm to learn that the camp loops were closed for the season on September 10th... What happened to free camp/open campground after labor day? If only there was a website that someone would update notifying people of the camp closures. Like maybe the Google website that I am currently writing this review on. Very disappointed.

I have a love hate relationship with this campground. It has 3 huge loops plus a tent section with fantastic views of the lake. I have a good cell and data signal too. The nights are nice, and the campers are quiet watching their fires. The sites seem a little close for me but maybe it's just me getting older and wanting some space. August 2025. Place is packed this weekend and it's generator city going on. Everywhere I look, I see campers. Not as fun this year. We will not return for weekend stays. We will plan our visit for the weekdays, when it's quieter and less crowded. We stay at forest campgrounds all over and have never seen or heard of anything this loud.

Omg! We had reservations for site 67 and when we got there was totally blown away. The site was 2 parking lot size spots on asphalt. 1 for camper and 1 for truck. Our truck would be in our front door under the awning and our slide would be slid into the brush. Luckily they had first come sites available. We changed to site 19 which was more our type of camping (trees and a yard) no water or electric. They did have drinking water and restrooms. The first come first served sites were the best they had to offer. No dump and no water to fill tanks. Pictures are of site 19, I didn’t get pics of 67.

Great campground - clean and well maintained. The lake is beautiful and and clear and we enjoyed kayaking around the whole lake. It’s a bit pricey ff the beaten path but well worth the visit! We loved kayaking in the crystal clear water!! The Sugar Shack has great burgers!!

Spacious Forest Service Campground. Great for tents or campers, not the best if you have a very large length (35'+) as long sites are limited. Bathrooms are clean. Proximity to lake is awesome for launching kayaks, paddle boats or for shore fishing.

At first reading some of these reviews, I had some concerns about this campground. I like everything about this campground. I will certainly be back. While they do not have showers, there is a place just down the road you can get a shower for five bucks. The price here more than makes up for a little inconvenience. Campground it’s quiet and clean. All the campground hosts are extremely nice. Be sure and say hi to the friendliest campground host EVER Alisa.

We love Pactola! The lake water is so clear and the fresh smell of pines is good for the heart! Our kids love biking down to the Marina for afternoon snacks. It's a fantastic campsite.

This is a huge, beautiful lake with unusual turquoise waters near the shores. The loop we stayed in was great; we had a view of the water through the trees, and a big site for our large tent. Some of the loops farther from the water didn't look as nice. The swimming area is a short drive from the camp, with rocks instead of sand on the beach, but the kids still liked it. We took the Osprey trail north of the campground; once you find the trailhead it's easy to follow, but you must walk a bit from the designated parking, past several campsites, and down a dirt road to find it.

Loved this camp site and the people who run the marina and camp store are the best
