Beautiful park for hiking and close to atv trails.

The campground is great! Very beautiful and well maintained. The reason for a 3, is the price for out of state visitors is 18 dollars a day in addition to the campground fees. For a primitive campsite, $51.00 total for one night. This is double the price for the surrounding states.

Nice spot for hiking, some excellent rock formations at Castle Mound and a tower for viewing the Black River State Forest Some alternate routes with varying elevations, and options for some nice vistas Nice looking campground, never stayed here but seems like a decent spot to set up camp

We booked the handicap site, it was a pull through but not really a pull through with an OVERSIZED fire pit was placed on the black top of the "pull through" We were able to get our travel trailer set up, had room for our truck and clam screen room. There are TONS AND TONS OF MOSQUITOS! We used off fogger spray and had to get more to keep it somewhat comfortable to have a fire or cook outside on the OVERSIZED fire pit! As we looked at other sites, if we come back we would choose those as the wooded area and weeds were cut back. Which I am sure helped with the horrendous mosquitos!! Plan of having a lot of mosquito spray!
