This campground is part of the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway system, providing a peaceful escape for travelers seeking natural beauty and water-based recreation. It is widely known for its exceptionally well-maintained sites and the calming influence of the surrounding mature hardwood forest, making it a true hidden gem for those traversing the quiet Alabama countryside.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the rural landscape of Coffeeville, AL, the park is nestled in a secluded area where the sounds of the river and local wildlife dominate the environment. The surrounding region is characterized by rolling hills and dense woodlands, offering a significant buffer from city noise and highway traffic. Its position on the waterway makes it an excellent vantage point for watching industrial river barges move through the nearby lock and dam system, which is a unique and fascinating feature of this historic river corridor.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features spacious, paved sites that cater specifically to RVers, many of which offer reliable electrical service and pressurized water hookups. Travelers can enjoy the convenience of a modern dump station and climate-controlled shower facilities located within the campground loop for maximum comfort. For those who enjoy outdoor dining, each site includes a sturdy fire ring and picnic table, perfect for evening cookouts. The park also provides a high-quality boat launch and a dedicated fishing pier for easy river access.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, with freshwater fishing for catfish and crappie being a primary draw for most visitors. The nearby Coffeeville Lock and Dam offers an educational look at river management and provides additional scenic vistas for photography and nature study. For a change of pace, the historic Bladon Springs State Park is a short drive away, offering access to famous mineral springs and additional hiking trails. Birdwatchers should keep their binoculars ready for bald eagles and various migratory species along the riverbanks.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for nature-focused RVers who prioritize tranquility and scenic water views over resort-style luxuries or commercial swimming pools. It is a fantastic choice for anglers and boaters looking to spend their days exploring the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway. If you are a traveler who appreciates the consistency and value of a COE park and prefers a slow-paced, rustic atmosphere where the primary entertainment is a crackling campfire, Service Park will suit your travel style perfectly.

Very maintained around camp sites. Gravel around fire pit and table area. Bath house is clean. Fishing opportunities and 2 playgrounds for kids.

First time here. Park is clean and tidy. Currently, there are only two campers here so if it gets dirty, it's our fault. All camp spots have good pads for parking your RV. Water and electricity at each site, with a dump station near the entrance of the camping area. I've enjoyed the barge traffic on the Tombigbee River. Expect many barge sightings during the day, and a couple during the night time. We will definitely return for that quick getaway.

What a treasure this park is! So rural and quiet . Sounds of nature . I have ave met some precious fellow campers who enjoy the serenity of Service Park, the same as I do. A place where you can actually see the stars at night 🌙 Come experience the peaceful slowness💗

Beautiful COE campground that is well-maintained. Stayed on the river side, which are all pull-thrus. Mossy oaks, large, spacious sites. Host met us at site and even called us to say we could arrive early. Sites are very big rig friendly and have enough extra space for toys, i.e. boats, and extra vehicles. Verizon was awesome to stream shows. Could not pick up any cable channels. One easy, quick trail. This park is impeccably maintained and quiet. Fish from your spot if on river side.

This is an awesome, small, clean park. Sites are nice size with fire pit with option of grill. And a stand alone charcoal grill. We stayed at site 7. All the sites on water are pull thru's, and have a nice view of the water. Nice were pretty level. Would definitely stay here again if passing thru.
