What a wonderful surprise to find this hidden gem! We were fascinated by the sand bottom of the river and the clear water. Didn’t have enough time to do more than a short hike and some river-gazing but it was worth every minute. Only $4 a carload gets you access for a day.

This is a nice, big park. There multiple parking lots dotted along the entry road (all cost $4 to park). There are any small beaches along the path and many swimmers were in the water so, even though there were signs for alligators there must not be many around. Lots of big spiders, though! We were only in town a couple days so we didn't explore too deeply but the sign at the trillion head said it was a couple hour's walk.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful park! The campsites are spacious, clean, and well-maintained with plenty of privacy between spots. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We loved the easy access to the Blackwater River—perfect for kayaking, floating, and even just relaxing on the white sandy banks. The trails are scenic and peaceful, especially Juniper Creek Trail. It's also very family-friendly and pet-friendly, with clean restrooms and a nice little playground. We’ll definitely be coming back for another relaxing getaway in nature. Highly recommend!

Very beautiful place! We will definitely be bringing the RV there to camp. Not every site is private but we did find a few campsites we really like. The campground is well maintained, white crushed rock makes it very inviting with the woodsy feel of camping. Very clean and did say nicely maintained?! I cant overemphasized how manicured it was. Very lovely, can't wait to go back for camping adventures. I kick myself for not taking pictures to share on this review.

Very nice park with lots of pet friendly and beautiful trails through river swamp and longleaf pine forest. Great birding and wildlife too! There is a picnic area and beach on the river right at the main bridge. The beach is lovely but it is a “no pets” beach now, thanks to thoughtless people who don’t restrain or pick up after their pets. When we are thoughtful and considerate of all users everyone enjoys the park more. Trash and recycling are available but we didn’t see any restrooms? Maybe missed that. There is a campground which we didn’t stay at, so can’t comment on its quality. It is right on the river though and river access for kayaks and canoes is easy all along the river. Parking for day use is $4 cash. There is often a prescribed burn going in somewhere in the park to maintain the pine forest, so there can be smoke present that might irritate someone with a sensitive breathing condition. There is also a Navy helicopter practice field right outside the park that can be noisy at times.
